I will recommend life in Ghent but on a general perspective it is expensive but lively.

Student life in Ghent is topnotch with students at every corner who think like you and share the same activities like you. You always feel in the amongst.

How much does it cost to live in Ghent?

Ghent is an expensive city comparatively, both in daily commodities and house rents.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ghent? Is there any advice you can give?

Depending on the time of the year could be a daunting task and and students heading to Ghent need to book accommodations well ahead of time and always book from trusted websites as several fraudsters flood the internet demanding money to be transferred to their accounts. Never do a transfer until you come and see the room for yourself.
A better advice is to ask your university housing department(if the univ dormitory are full) for reliable websites.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I particularly like the Hawaiian dishes because of the healthy nature of it and the mixture varieties of your choice
Other great dishes could be found in other places but I haven't really tried those

Sint Baafs cathedral
Citadel park
Ghent botanical
Also the canal

Is it good to eat out in Ghent? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Ghent is a student residential area. Very compelling to eat out with various uncountable places. I particularly like the Hawaiian Poke Bowl restau near Ghent Zuid Stationstraat.
