Erasmus Experience in Ghent, Belgium by Tam.
Why did you choose to go to Ghent, Belgium?
I follow BIFTEC programme at the KU Leuven.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
2 years of Master degree.
What is the food like?
Just french-fries, beer and chocolate - but beer with more than 5000 types.
What's the easiest way to move around the city?
On foot. Ghent is small city and walking is good for health.
Also, renting a bike from fietsambassade is best choice for short-term staying in Ghent.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Ghent?
Overpoot pubs and Amadeus ribs.
Some coffee shop nearby river sides.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Ghent?
Amadeus - The Place For Ribs.
17 euro per person, and you can eat as many ribs as possible. The flavor is unique and the sauce is super tasty. You should order BigCola (1L bottle) (7 euro) for drinks instead of the single cup of coke because it costs 2 more euro per cup.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Ghent in the future?
Bring umbrella or raincoat because the weather is unpredictable.
Lock your bike carefully because it is easy to lose it.
Have to try Amadeus ribs once :D
