TV channels in Georgia and what to watch

There are many TV channels in Georgia. They are more than enough! Although, it's considered, that there are two main channels: Rustavi2 and Imedi. Okay, maybe they were the two dominant ones some years ago, but now their dominance has faded away.

Rustavi 2

Everyone loves Rustavi 2 comedy shows, if you ask me. The Vano's Show is the most popular one and it focuses on the politics mostly and they have really great humorous show. Another programmes are Comedy Show and "Gaatsine da Moige" ("make them laugh and win") and I just love watching them. They also show some famous films mostly at night. And if you want to watch some information about current situation, you can watch them almost in every hour, but the main ones are on 12, 3 and 9 p.m.

Imedi

I really liked watching this particular channel because of their comedy series called "Shua Kalakshi" (which means "in the middle of the city"). And nowadays, sometimes I watch it just to watch those series. I know they are on TV on Saturday nights, so if I have time I just turn the TV on to Imedi and watch those series. They are really funny and they have been on for more than 10 seasons now, I think.

Comedy Channel

Personally, I like watching the Comedy Channel and I recommend watching it to everybody! This is a channel focusing mainly on comedy programes, such as comedy shows, sketches, parodies, etc.You can just have this channel turned on the whole day and enjoy watching it, or you can just do your stuff and listen to it. Because life gets easier with this channel.

GDS TV

One of the very new channels in Georgia is GDS. I didn't know what it meant until I saw their commercial where it was written very clearly: "Georgian Dream Studios". "Oh, so that's what it is " _ that was my reaction, as any reaction one would get after realising that he/she didn't understand something so simple until that time. So this channel offers people many different shows and it's really good,  if you want to know the truth. I, personally, watch mostly this channel and the Comedy channel. GDS shows very popular TV series, such as Grey's Anatomy, New Girl, The Middle, Bones, etc.

Also, they show popular movies and they have this Georgian comedy series "Husbands and wives", which I find really nice to watch and I watch it everytime it's  on. 

Music channels

There are also some music channels that I watch mostly. They are Stereo+, Stereo One and Music Box, and also Tabula. While those first three have popular songs of the world, Tabula offers its audience some good Georgian music and I really love them.

Obiektivi

This channel is just hilarious. There are only people talking and talking and talking. My grandparents watch this channel and I really wonder why. Of course, there are some good stuff there, but mostly they are useless to me. So, I don't really recommend watching this channel.

Kavkasia

Now this particular channel is often a topic of laughter. Everyone knows about its presentor Davit Akubardia, who speaks very strangely during his show and he kind of sleeps during it and many people just make jokes about it and stuff like that. I don't really know who watches this channel. Well, I certainly don't. But as it functions, there must be people out there who watch it.

Still, after watching many TV channels,we may reach the conclusion that the mass media certainly affect people's ideas. People shouldn’t spend too much time watching TV, reading newspaper or listening to the radio. So, beware! There are some pretty bad things going on in your mind when you get influenced by TV!
