Superstitions

The introduction

I think that superstitions can’t be real, unless you believe in them. However, there is some truth in every superstition like it is in every lie. I will try to give you some examples of superstitions, which are based on logical suggestions.

Those superstitions

First of all, there is a superstition that if you walk under a ladder, you will have a bad luck. But I think you shouldn’t walk under a ladder anyways because some paint drops may decorate your clothes or you may be hit by things falling from the up. In addition, I’ve heard that there is a superstition that if you clean a table with a handkerchief you will get poorer. But it is obvious, I guess, that if you use lots of handkerchiefs, it will cost a lot of money so you will actually get poorer than you are now.

Secondly, there’s a superstition that if you sit on your baggage before you go on a trip, it will bring you a good luck but I think that all of us should take a look at our houses before going on a trip to check we aren’t forgetting anything.

Finally, they say that if a black cat runs in front of you while driving it will bring a bad luck to you but I think that if an animal, no matter what color it is, runs in front of you, especially when you’re driving a car, it is a bad sign, what’s more, you may hit it.

Thus, I think that despite superstitions may seem stupid, they are logical and are used to frighten people who don’t want to foresee suggestions. However there is no witchcraft in them and we can be tranquil because if we don’t obey these some kind of rules, nothing will punish us, our actions will just have logical results.
