Ice creams in Georgia continued

Family ice creams

So, Gurjaani ice cream company has those huge boxes of ice cream, and there are just vanilla ice cream, or vanilla and chocolate together, mostly, however, people just buy this vanilla ice cream mostly, I guess. To be honest, I really don’t like their vanilla ice cream, because it kind of has this milk taste and I don’t really like the taste of milk from my childhood. That’s why I prefer drinking chocolate milk or milk with cocoa powder or something like that, so that I wouldn’t taste the taste of milk in them.  And, I guess, that’s why I prefer chocolate ice creams  to vanilla ones, because those vanilla ones still have that milk taste in them and I don’t eat them with the feeling that I eat ice cream , but that I’m drinking some milk, you know. Even those fruit flavoured ice creams have that taste of milk, if you ask me. Well, if the ice cream doesn’t have real whole milk in them, then they won’t taste like milk, of course, and so they are, of course, some ice creams are just like that, and so people know that this Gurjaani ice cream company uses the real milk, I guess, because their ice creams have that taste of milk.

Well, those Barambo family ice creams are pretty delicious, too. I mean, I prefer Barambo ice cream to Gurjaani ice cream, if you want to know the truth, because Barambo ice cream has some distinguished taste, if you ask me. And their chocolate ice creams have this great taste of cocoa. And they already have much variety of ice creams, so that you can choose whichever you want and eat it, you know. However, as I’ve already mentioned, I prefer all those sandwich ice creams and stuff, which is Tolia ice cream company’s stuff, you know, so that I basically buy ice creams from Tolia. They also have those family ice creams, however, I pretty much recommend Barambo’s large ice creams, or there are some large ice creams, which are called Pingo and they are pretty tasty. Though they are not that large as those family ice cream boxes, however, they are really delicious and worth buying. You know, the main thing here is the taste and not the size, mostly, however, sometimes people just choose ice cream or anything because of their size and they buy those big stuff, though they are not that delicious or something like that. Well, if you want to have an iced coffee with an ice cream _ which is a pretty popular thing in Georgia, especially in summers _ you can just buy whichever ice cream you want, because it doesn’t really matter, which one you will add to your coffee, however, I would still recommend chocolate ice cream, rather than vanilla one. Though , it’s all up to you, I mean, perhaps you like vanilla ice cream more than the chocolate one and you like that iced coffee with some vanilla ice cream, then you should really have it, of course, I can’t argue with you , because everyone is an individual and we all have our tastes and we all love different things and do things differently. All I can do is to share my opinion and recommend some stuff to you and then you can decide whether my recommendation is worthy of trying or not, of course. So that, I will just say, that iced coffee is really delicious with chocolate ice cream, however, you can use vanilla ice cream in it, too, because it’s still ice cream and it’s still delicious. Well, I’ve tasted both of them, I mean, I have tasted iced coffee with vanilla ice cream and I’ve tasted iced coffee with chocolate ice cream, too, and, since I love chocolate ice cream and I prefer chocolate ice cream to that vanilla ice cream, of course, I would rather drink iced coffee with chocolate ice cream, however, when it comes to that, it’s kind of the same, if you use chocolate ice cream or vanilla ice cream in your iced coffee, if you want to know  the truth.

There are many other ice creams from other countries, I mean, the imported stuff, which are pretty delicious, too. They are in those large supermarkets, such as Goodwill, Fresco, Carrefour, Smart Supermarket and others. They really have some good stuff. However, I pretty much like those Goodwill stuff. They are pretty cool and, besides, there are plenty of them and they even have those small cute ice cream cones with waffle and they are really small, however, they are really tasty. I’ve eaten chocolate one once and it was really good, if you ask me. It’s when you want to eat some ice cream, however, you don’t want to eat that big stuff, I mean, you just want a few bites of ice cream _ then you can just go to Goodwill and buy that small ice cream and enjoy it. it’s like half of the real ice cream size and it’s really enough for one person, if you ask me. You know, those companies should really think about producing those smaller sized things, because those things that they have are more than enough for one person, if you ask me. Well, at least, they are more than enough for me and, so that, I don’t want to buy them when I’m on the road or on a lunch break or something like that, because I know, that I can’t really eat whole of them and I will have to eat them by force or just throw them away, and I don’t really like throwing some food away when they are pretty new and stuff like that, you know. And, well, why should I eat something by force, too?! Everywhere I go, there are those large things and it’s just really hard not to buy them, because there’s no other option. Well , now you can buy some salads or things like that and have them just as much as you wish and not more and not less, however, there are not always those prepared stuff in every supermarket, so that you have to buy some stuff that you know, that you can’t really eat them all.

Famous chocolate bar ice creams

There are also those ice creams of those famous chocolate bars, I mean, we all  know the Snickers and Mars and Bounty, of course, they are chocolate bars, which, I guess, everyone loves and they are really delicious, too, and there are so many commercials about them, that it’s hard not to know them and not to have tasted them, of course. So that, there are ice creams made so that they could be similar to those chocolate bars, I mean, they taste kind of like them, though they have ice cream in them.

You know, some years ago, when we were children and we had our lessons finished and my mother was taking us home, we went to this supermarket, where there were many things and it was one of those two supermarkets, which were very popular in our town, because they had so many things, that others didn’t have and they had some special things, too, that were new to us and we didn’t know about them. So, they had all these stuff and I always loved going into that supermarket, because I could see so many things, that were unfamiliar and strange for us. And they also had these amazing toys, which I just loved to look at, though I didn’t really want to buy them and have them at home. So, that day we went to that supermarket, too, and it was something like the end of the spring or the beginning of the summer, I guess, and we wanted some ice cream. So we went there and looked in their fridge to choose some ice creams. It was then when we saw that Bounty bar and I thought that it was a chocolate bar put in the fridge, however, it turned out that it was not a chocolate bar, rather it was an ice cream with that Bounty chocolate bar taste. We all loved Bounty chocolate bar, of course, so that we decided to have one of those Bounty ice creams and taste it. it was a very fancy thing that time, because you couldn’t find something like that very easily in every supermarket, if you want to know the truth. So, it was pretty surprising to taste it and I still remember, how excited I was at that time and how I felt when I tasted it _ I just loved that Bounty ice cream, if you want to know the truth. And my brother and mother loved it, too. Well, it was kind of expensive that time, so that we didn’t really have plenty of it then, however, now its price is pretty reasonable, I mean, it costs about the same as the other ice creams. It’s like 1.20 Laris or so, so that anyone can buy it. and it’s pretty good, if you love those chocolate bars and ice cream. There are Snickers, Mars and Bounty ice cream bars here in Georgia that I’ve seen. I think, I saw Albeni ice cream bar somewhere, but I’m not really sure. So, if you want to eat them, you can find them in many supermarkets.

Anyways, there are whole lot’s of choices about ice creams that you can make, I mean, you can buy ice creams anywhere in Tbilisi and the larger the supermarket is, the more variety of ice creams there is, so that if you go to those hypermarkets, you can find much more ice creams, than in those usual supermarkets, if you want to know the truth.

Freshly made ice creams

Besides those ones, you can get some freshly made ice creams in the streets of Tbilisi in summers, too. They call them “Chamosaskhmeli” ice cream, which means that they pour that ice cream in front of you. They have those waffle forms ready and the ice cream ready in that ice cream machines, all they need is a client and the money and they can get you that fresh ice cream right away! I love those ice creams, if you want to know the truth. Once when we were on the seaside in Kobuleti, I just had so many of them every day, that you couldn’t believe it. and, besides, they had pretty delicious chocolate one and sometimes I had that chocolate one and sometimes I had chocolate and vanilla mixture. It’s really about the taste , of course, because some people don’t have delicious ice cream in those machines, I mean, they don’t have that chocolate taste or something like that, you know . and that girl had really tasty chocolate ice cream, so that I used to buy it again and again. One of those delicious ice creams that I know is in front of Marjanishvili metro station, when you cross the road you can see that ice cream machine and they have pretty tasty ice creams there. So if you are in Tbilisi and happen to be nearby Marjanishvili metro station in summer, you can just cross the road and see that ice cream machine and buy some ice cream, it’s worth it, trust me.

Ice cream places

Well, there are some ice cream places, where you can eat those cute balls of ice creams in waffle or in a cup with different kinds of toppings and stuff like that. The most popular one is Luca Polare, where many people go to eat those delicious ice creams that they have, and there are plenty of them and it’s pretty difficult to choose just one or two of them, I mean, I can barely eat two balls of that ice cream, because that portion is pretty  much for me, however, some people can eat plenty of them, I mean, they can eat even four balls, I guess, I don’t know, however, one or two balls is pretty much enough for me and so that now you understand how hard it is for me to choose one or two ice creams from all those very delicious ice creams. I usually have something with chocolate or coffee taste, I mean, I don’t really like fruit ice creams, however, sometimes I just feel like eating fruit ice creams, of course.

This one time, we were in East Point, where there’s this Luca Polare ice cream thing and you can go there and choose those ice creams and eat them, so me and my sister went there and she just chose one of them and paid for it and took it and started eating it, while I was still standing in front of it and deciding which one to eat, because I only wanted one ball of that ice cream in a waffle. So, I was standing there for a really long time and that girl almost decided that I was not going to buy anything, you know, because she just asked me too many times, which ice cream I wanted and it was kind of annoying, if you ask me, however, I didn’t know which one I wanted and I answered, that I was deciding, of course, so that she just gave up after some time. Then at last, I decided to have that cherry and vanilla and something ice cream, I don’t remember its name, however , it was pretty delicious and that cherry taste really gave it a distinguished taste, if you want to know the truth. And that one ball of that ice cream cost 2.50 or 3.50 Laris, so that for its taste, it’s not that expensive, if you ask me. There’s one Luca Polare shop on Pekini avenue, nearby the Technical University metro station. The other one is  on Aghmashenebeli street, just when you come out of Marjanishvili metro station and go to the right, you will see Luca Polare on the right side just some steps later.

There’s this other Morellis Gelato on Tsintsadze street in Tbilisi, which is kind of newly opened, however, there are many people eating ice cream there and they love it and they have a variety of ice creams, if you want to know the truth. And the environment there is pretty cozy and beautiful and you will want to hang out there with your friends and eat ice cream.

Of course, if you are a fast food lover and you visit McDonald’s and Wendy’s and KFC and things like that, you will know, that they have ice creams there, too. They have ice creams in waffle and ice creams in a cup with caramel, chocolate or strawberry topping and the people really love those ice creams, however, I don’t really like them, because they are vanilla ice creams, and as I’ve mentioned already, they are not my favourite ones when it comes to choosing between vanilla and chocolate.
