Educational system in Georgia is somehow complicated, I could say. First of all, children go to kindergartens somewhere at the ages of 3 to 5. And then there is school. It has not been long since they got the new law about at what age should children go to school. According to the new law, if a child is not six years old by the time the school year starts, he can not go to school. There are no exceptions! This was criticized by many parents and people all over the Georgia, but the Ministry of Education and Science Georgia said, that the law would not be changed and that the conversation was over! When graduating school, you have to pass some exams. Well, in fact, you have to pass 8 exams, half of them you pass in the eleventh grade and half of them you pass at the end of the 12-th year. You should apply for universities if you want to study in university or in college in the beginning of February or so. Then from June to July you have to pass the National Exams your application in universities to be considered. Then you get your scores somewhere in the beginning of August and at the end of August you know whether or not you got in any universities.

The problem of choosing profession has always been very important. The profession a person chooses in many ways determines his future life. For most people, choosing a career is not an easy task. It is one of the most important decisions one makes in life. The properly chosen career makes a person happy and successful for the rest of his life.

There are several factors, that influence the decision of young people to make their choice. It’s generally believed, that professions should be both prestigious and interesting. Another factor is that the profession of the parents often influences the future profession of their children.

Today’s most popular professions are lawyers and economists and also computer operators. Of course, medicine is still popular and many people decide to enroll the university to study medicine. These professions are prestigious. They can predict a man a good job and good future. But nobody can tell what’s going to happen. People should listen to themselves to find out what their inclinations are.

If you graduate business faculty, for instance, you can’t be guaranteed, that you will get a good job, etc.

In my opinion, the sooner a person chooses his future profession, the better it is. But, my father often says this saying: “hurry slowly!” So, it’s not good to hurry in anything, too, that, I guess, everyone knows. Then, they must be hard-working, ambitious, clever, lucky and so on and so forth, to get a good job and have a good career.

Teachers have always been necessary for every country, because educated people make countries successful and, with no doubt, teachers educate people. Whoever, I think it is not teaching most of us want to do in the future, because there are better professions than that.

To begin with, teachers give almost everything to educate students, but their hard work is rarely valued. They mean nothing else, but machines to many people. There are many movies about tired and stressed out teachers not even being thanked for their hard work.

Secondly, it’s really hard to be a teacher, because one needs nerves to stand that strict curriculum or students’ behavior. In addition, students’ attitude to teachers is ridiculous. Teachers often happen to be victims of students’ bad jokes, etc.

In conclusion, being a teacher is a blessing in disguise and very hard, so that it can’t be the best profession ever. From my point of view, there are more beautiful, easy and enjoyable professions thatn teachers in the world, like artists, actors, etc.

Nowadays many colleges and universities appear on the list of colleges and universities. The question is: do we need so many of them?

To my mind, it has as many disadvantages as advantages.

First of all, one may think, that there is a high level of education, as there are many educational buildings, when, in fact, that really may not be true.

Secondly, these colleges and universities need money from government, from people. They have such prices, that normal people can’t afford it even if their children are really good to study there. On the example of colleges and universities in Georgia, I think, that they want just to get money in every way, but to grow them up well-educated and become patriots of their country.

On the other hand, many colleges and universities are good, so if someone can’t go to the capital, they can study near their home. Secondly, more people are employed and unemployment level decreases a little bit.

To sum up, it’s better for graduates to be many colleges and universities, because they will have more chances of entering them

In my opinion, there should be taught subjects on high level in every college or university, so they wouldn’t be a problem for government or people.

Another thing is the mobiles. Nowadays children at school have their mobiles and this costs some problems, of course, while some people think, that pupils should be allowed to bring a mobile phone to school. Nowadays technologies are developing fast. So pupils like to keep in touch with the newest technologies and they want to have new things offered by modern technologies. One of these things are mobile phones.

I think pupils should be allowed to bring mobile phones to school. There may be some reasons, why I think that.

First of all, mobile phones are the quickest way to keep in touch with parents. Everything is expected after all. Maybe a child is ill or hurt or something like that, then he/she needs a phone to call his/her parents.

Secondly, a mobile phone has many functions, that can be useful for any moment. For example, calendar, calculator, clock or when you don’t remember a phone number, you can use your phone and search the phone number in it.

Moreover, it’s important to remember, that many accidents happen everywhere every minute or second, so phones are useful in these moments.

So, what I want to say is, that mobile phones shouldn’t be restricted in schools. I don’t know about others, but they were not restricted in my school. Of course, teacher made sure, that nobody had their phones in their hands during the lesson, so that they would not be distracted or something like that, but on breaks they could use their mobile phones.

Now, there's another thing. Okay, now maybe I'm just writing about stuff, that nobody or most of you don't care, but mentioning education, I just remembered the idea of teachers replaced by computers. So, children go to school and study. They gain some basic knowledge about every subject. There are teachers teaching them mathematics, reading and writing, science, etc.

I think, it will be horrible teachers to be replaced by computers. But everything has its advantages and disadvantages.

To look it from the one side, it will be good, first of all, because if children learn on their own, they will become more independent and when you study, obviously, you have some questions about things you don’t understand or you are curious about. So your independence is that you can search and find everything you are curious about on your own, without teacher’s help.

To look from the opposite side, it will be terrible.

Firstly, children will not be able to talk to computers and videos. They have no opportunity for communication.

Secondly, how can a machine teach people? It is very uncomfortable way to educate children, and it’s nonsense: children will be taught by machines made by humans… how can young generation be developed without gaining skills, such as: friendship, relationship, sense of humanity, group work, pair work, sharing ideas and getting reply.

Finally, technologies can not answer our questions, they can’t discuss anything with us, etc. in fact, they can’t do any things, necessary for educating children and for duration of the lessons.

To sum up, children can not get main education by computers. Internet is a great way of getting information _ that’s true, but there’s a really mass in Internet too…

In conclusion, the idea of replacing teachers by computers and videos is not a good idea at all. I think after that people will become more uneducated and there won’t be any real professionals anywhere.

Many people agree with the idea that every subject pupils study at school is important for them. To my mind, we can’t divide history and literature and science and mathematics.

First of all, that kind of behavior would be really immature, because we live life as it is and we aren’t supposed to divide it into things which don’t exist as separate things.

Secondly, it’s compulsory for students to know subjects they are taught at school, because that’s the minimum they can know in their lives. We need all these subjects daily, because we bump into many information which consists of elements from maths, history, etc.

In conclusion, it’s all in the same boat and it’s important for students to know history and literature as well as science and mathematics, because they are permanent unseparatable components of our life.

So, you go to kindergarten until the age of 6, then you go to school for 12 years, so you graduate when you're 18 or something. Then you can choose to study at university or college, or just go to army and stuff or just be at home, it's up to you. But in Georgia, most of the graduates go to university or college even if they don't want to. In fact, everybody goes to university. And there are plenty of them. To be eligible to study at university, you have to have completed your high school level and have a certificate and you also have to have passed the National Exams, which consists of 3 main subjects and 1 or more elective subjects, and it mainly depends on a faculty you choose to attend to. These 3 subjects are: Georgian language and literature, foreign language, and abilities testing. There are some barriers in each exam and if you pass them, you get some scores, that affect youe eligibility in a particular university that you have chosen to enroll.
