The introduction

Well, this day was a special day for us and I want to tell you about it, because it's my mother's birthday on the 3-rd of September and it's been a couple of years that we have been celebrating it in Batumi and Sarpi, which is the place on the border of Georgia and Turkey. It's a good place, if you want to know the truth, there are some houses and hotels and stuff like that and people rent them and spend their summer holidays there and I must say, that there are some good stuff, too. There's this place where we use to go, it's kind of in the middle of Sarpi and there is this hotel with swimming pool and cafe and a restaurant and the environment is pretty nice there and we go there on this dayand have some celebration dinner with wine and stuff like that. It's like a tradition, you know. So , we went there this year, too.

The start of the day

The day strarted normally, I mean, it was a sunny day and we went to the beach and we swam a little. The sea was alright and it was pretty cool to swim there. Then, of course, we got some suntan and stuff like that and when it got really hot we got into our room and waited for my brother to come so that we could go to Batumi together. Well, he was in Kobuleti, if you want to know the truth and we were waiting for him to come and take us to Batumi.

It was afternoon when my brother came and we got ready and got into the car and hit the road. It was pretty hot, I must say, and we had all those windows down and stuff like that. We had to go through Kobuletiand get to Batumi and then, if we wanted we could go to Sarpi, of course.

Well, going through Kobuleti we were looking around and, to be honest, we needed an ATM machine, so that we were searching for it and finally we saw one and stopped the car.

It was a pleasant day, I mean, it had rained a little and stuff like that, however, everything was just fine and it was cool around. It was cool especially on the road to the Batumi Botanical Garden and there were many cars moving there slowly and that particular piece of road is really hated for the drivers, I guess.

Anyways, we got to Batumi in half an hour or so and we wanted to go shopping first, of course, to buy something for my mom, however, we didn’t find that particular shop, I mean, there was this shop, where we would buy some women’s handbags and stuff like that, however, when we arrived there, it was not there anymore and there was some other shop instead of it and when we asked where we could find that shop, no one knew, so that it was a disappointment, though we couldn’t do anything. So that, we decided not to break that tradition and go to Sarpi this time, too. Since it’s not very far from Batumi, we didn’t need much time to arrive there.

The road was full of beautiful landscapes and I just wanted to picture all of them.

Arriving in Sarpi

Arriving in Sarpi we saw some cars and people there and at first, I didn’t really understand what was going on, however, then it seemed, that there was some big celebration there. Well, we went in that restaurant which has a view over the beach and the sea and sat down. And then the waiter told us that they didn’t have many things on menu that day, because there was a wedding and they had ordered much stuff for them. It turned out, that there was a wedding in another of their places _ that was a little above that restaurant and when I went up there, I saw those people and the bride dressed in white and dancing and stuff. And there were many people in the restaurant next to us, too, dining all together and everything. Well, there were four of us and we were celebrating, too.celebration-border-c21d8edadaaf13ebbb353

We had our dinner there and had this Telavi Wine, which was pretty good, if you want to know the truth. The dishes were tasty and everything was just fine. However, they didn’t have much things, as I’ve already mentioned and we couldn’t have a dessert there.Though, it was nothing, because we could have it somewhere else, maybe in Batumi, or have it another time, I mean, the cake, you know, you usually have a birthday cake or something like that to blow the candles and stuff.

Celebration at the border

Off to Batumi

It was quite an evening when we got out of that restaurant and went to Batumi. There we would park our car somewhere near the Boulevard and walk there. However, I just felt that I was pretty sleepy and I thought, that I would have an iced coffee and somehow I remembered that they had some iced coffee in McDonald’s. so, when I told others about my plan, they all agreed to drink iced coffees, so that we went to McDonald’s in Batumi. However, it seemed like they didn’t have any iced coffee, so that everyone just took some other things and I had this chocolate milkshake, which was pretty good.celebration-border-63e4617a465a19aa286d4

Then it started to rain a little and, well, we still decided to go to the Boulevard. We walked there for some time and it was alright, however then the rain got heavier and soon we were all wet and stuff until we got to the car. Fortunately, we had some clothes and stuff like that to change, so that we wouldn’t catch a cold or something like that, because it would be kind of cold on the road, you know. Though it all ended very well and we got home safe and everything. It was quite an enjoyable day, if you want to know the truth. And pretty memorable, too, because one doesn’t simply forget how they got all wet while walking in the Boulevard and stuff like that!
