Hello readers, such an honor to be given the chance to spend time in this city which for many reasons will remain in my memories for a long time. I can start by telling you that it is here in Gdansk that I had my first experience of going to the seaside and see for myself what it ment to be in contact with natures marvel. The beach I went to is called Brzezno and it is twenty minutes away by tram from where I live. I remember that soon before I got to the shoreline I heard for the first time in my existence the sound of the waves and this profound silence that later I found out it is only because it was autumn and not many people come by as opposed to the big summer season.

First glimpse

After about hundred metre of walking I get there and wow... just wow. For the first ten minutes I was immobilised and didn't dare to move a muscle: standing in the middle of the sandy beach as a whole mass of water was coming and going, as if there was an orchestra conductor moving his magical wond and the musicians, or the weaves in this case, where attentively following his guidence. At some point I had to move so I started to walk on the sandy beach but keeping my distance from the water, it wasn't the moment yet to get in touch with such entity and I am not lying but that day was particularly cold so you can immagine how cold the water could have been.

Sometimes I think that the the endless times I spent watching american movies had somewhat of an impact, at least in my case, so as I was getting ready to go to the beach I took with me some fruits, nuts and a cover I wasn't using anymore to lay it on the sandy beach and sit there to enjoy the view. In this case my repertoire of american movies came in hand: as soon as I familiarised my self with the new seaside environment I took my cover and laid it on the sandy beach and who would have guessed that sitting on the sand could be that comfortable. Maybe that's why people say that we have to constantly engage ourselfs into new places and never before seen landscapes because we actually might change our minds and really like them a lot. This is the picture I took of the spot where I was sitting down, I sure got myself comfortable over there...

By now I was enjoying tha explosion in my mouth of the flavours of the fruits I had brought from home and the gentle but yet freezing wind tickling my forehead. In that particular moment I couldn't be but grateful and full of joy, I remember that I was smiling so much that my cheeks were in pain. At this moment a flashback memory came right on at me so I tried to allow it to take me back in time and I racall my days in high school when my italian literature teacher would make us read poems written about the sea and at that time many of my classmates including me haven't been to the seaside to see how it felt like being in such place so we had to picture it in our immagination and get through that class; now I wasn't in the same situation anymore beacuse I was by the seaside and I had a mere sensation and understanding when one of the greatest poets of italian literature Giacomo Leopardi ended his famous poem by this verse, which I am quoting in italian: ''e il naufragar m'è dolce in questo mare''.

Graphical memory

As any good millenial would do I also got into my selfie time and started to take pictures, one after the other, after all it is my first time going to the beach so please give me a break. Though I must say that my skills when it comes to snapping pictures is a work in progress but any way take a look
