Everyone knows Italy is sweet, but gelato make Italy even sweeter; )

This gelateria is located in the second bridge after Ponte Vecchio. Well worth it trip across the Arno river. The bridge is called la Carraia and that’s where this gelateria takes the name from. It is famous for being one of the best gelateria not just in Florence but in the whole world. Something that makes it special is the amount of different flavors they have. I think they have around different 20 flavors, so basically you go there and you take forever to decide which flavors to pick (and trust me, is not an easy choice). The flavors are unimaginable.

So if you get the chance to go to Florence even if it is a quick trip you should go there. Enjoying the gelato with the view of Ponte Vecchio in front of you just makes it even better. So when you pass the bridge of la Carraia you will see a line up but do not leave, wait in the line because it is worth it, you are about to eat the best gelato in the world.

Actually I was recommended to check this place by a chef of a cooking class so I knew I had to give it a try. Comparing it with other gelaterias in Florence it is cheap, you can get a small cone with one flavor for 1 euro which it pretty cheap and I don’t think you can find something cheaper in Florence. In general it is a great value for quality and quantity. I would suggest you to try these flavors: pistachio, dark chocolate, sour cherry, tiramisu… etc.
