An experience in Denmark, Educational path
Education is a space of sharing, integration, interaction, construction,
knowledge, learning. With education we learn to live together, to overcome
obstacles. We have learned that understanding and tolerance are daily
exercises that require attention and we learn that there are several stones in
the middle of the way. This stones give us the opportunity to consolidate and
acquire some learning through the problems, the achivements and the
opportunities.
My academic journey, or rather, the beginning of my post academic jorney
began with a two-month internship in a small town in Denmark, Esbjerg. In
all phases, there is always something that stands out more, but without a
doubt that the fact of being in another country and being part of the growth
of a group of children between 3 and 6 years old contributed to my growth as
a future professional. I admit that initially the nervousness was too much and
the fear of failure even greater. The fact that I was facing an unfamiliar
language, as well as a different method of education, have left me a little
worried, but always with open horizons trying to do my best.
The weeks of observation were crucial to my work methodology. I began by
establishing a relationship of trust, respect and affection with all children and
the school community. It was through contact with the children that I gained
a greater awareness and perception of their knowledge, skills as well as their
development, allowing me to have a better view on future plans and projects
or activities to implement. The confidence that emerged with the school
community was indeed crucial to all the work and learning accomplished
during these two months, without which this fantastic experience would not
have been the same, the support given by all was essential.
