El Jadida, Morocco

El Jadida is a Moroccan city located on the Atlantic coast at 90 km from Casablanca. This city was built by the Portuguese during the 16th century and was named Mazagan, and it was in 1769 that it was taken over by the Moroccans.

Life in El Jadida :

Life is generally normal in this city. But El Jadida is well known to a great number of fishermen and red algae and oyster collectors. These algae are later used in the manufacturing of drugs or cosmetics, so they play a big role in the local economy of the city. The most prevalent agriculture products in the El Jadida area are watermelons and vines, and I should point out that most farmers there like horses and own a few.

Transportation :

The types of available transportation in El Jadida are : trains, buses and taxis, which cover the entire city. The most expensive means is the taxi, but it's faster and more effective.

Accommodation :

The hotel prices in El Jadida vary between 20€ and 150€ per night per person. You can also find people renting out their houses and apartments so the prices are lower at 15€ per night.

The beaches in El Jadida :

On the Atlantic Ocean, the El Jadida beaches are many (Sidi Bouzid beach, Oualidia beach, El Haouzia beach, Lalla Aïcha beach, Sidi Abed beach and the beach at Mazagan Beach Resort), my favorite being Sidi Bouzid beach. During the summer, it becomes a destination for Moroccans and tourists, because it's close to the city and has excellent tourist infrastructure. I'll leave with some pictures here to show to you the beauty of the Sidi Bouzid beach.
