What is it like to live in Dundee? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
After living in Dundee as a student I really enjoyed the city so much I became a permanent resident after finishing my degree.
What is the student lifestyle like in Dundee?
The students union was very good and many events are organised to suit different tastes.
How much does it cost to live in Dundee?
Very reasonable in comparison to the other ancient universities in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Dundee? Is there any advice you can give?
There is a variety of accommodation available to suit different tastes and budgets. Both universities in Dundee offer students residential accommodation but the is also a reasonable supply of private accommodation.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
There is a wide variety of restaurants offering international cusine; Thai, Chinese, Indian, Italian and Scottish.
What places would you recommend visiting in Dundee?
McManus Art Gallery and Museum, Camperdown country park and wildlife centre.
Free annual music festival called, Westfest held every summer.
Is it good to eat out in Dundee? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Various great restaurants in city centre and all wag along the Perth Road.
Is the nightlife good in Dundee? Where is good to go?
As well as a great nightlife at the students union the city centre has a few nightclubs and late bars that open until 2am. Wide variety of pubs with live music are usually available at the weekends. Dundee Blues Festival being one of the annual highlights.
What advice would you give future students heading to Dundee?
Enjoy every moment as it's over too soon.
