Why did you choose to go to Dundee, United Kingdom?

I chose Dundee because I study Engineering and the Department of Engineering of Dundee University is at the top places in UK university ranking.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I have been in Dundee for two semesters (10 months) as an Erasmus student. I received about 300€ per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Dundee?

Dundee is a small city full of students compared to its size. There are around 25. 000 students if I remember right, most of them are international student. It's the perfect place if you want to meet lot of people and study at excellent University.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Dundee to other students?

What is the food like?

It's typical English food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Dundee?

It stayed at university accommodation. They are very expensive (around 500€), but there is a toilet in every room and kitchen in common. Another option is to stay at private accommodation, it is a lot cheaper.

How much does it cost to live in Dundee?

I think 900-1000€, it depends on accommodation and lifestyle.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, there are many language courses. If you know a bit of English you can easily meet international students and Scottish students too.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Dundee from your city?

I am from Trento, the best way to travel is by plane, from Bergamo to Glasgow.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Dundee?

There are few place where you can meet students and friends. The Union is the meeting point of every university students, there are a couple of pubs inside and special events take place every week. (when I was there it was the best Union in UK). Besides, Liquid, Fatsams and Underground are other good clubs.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Dundee in the future?

I suggest you to join a club sport, it's definitely the easiest way to meet a lot of friends. They organise parties and special events.
