What is it like to live in Dhaka? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
It is just a busy city. Roads and highways around the city is under construction. So, all over the Dhaka city is in under heavy traffic jam. It is the city we are living for better employment and other one stop service which are not found in the other major cities of Bangladesh rather than Chittagong.
What is the student lifestyle like in Dhaka?
In my opinion student life is the best time here to enjoy all over the city and the country. You can find full satisfaction of using this life. But, if you want find an institution which is giving international standard, it is very hard to found. For better education we need to depend on American or European universities.
How much does it cost to live in Dhaka?
For a single person living all sorts of enjoyment and food may live within US$200.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Dhaka? Is there any advice you can give?
Not so much. But for the bachelor, it is sometime difficult to find a residence because most of the time landlord are not interested to give rent to the bachelor. The y prefer to give rent to the Family.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food is quite good here in Bangladesh. The main food is Rice srving with different curry, vegetable, Meet, Fish etc. You can find a multi cuisine in Dhaka and Chittagong. Asian, Arabic, Malaysian, Mexican, European and many more. My favorite Dish is Meat and rice.
What places would you recommend visiting in Dhaka?
Ahsan Monjil, Snargaon, National Martyr Tomb, Jatiya Shangshad Bhaban, Lalbag Fort, Dhakesshori Temple etc.
Is it good to eat out in Dhaka? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes! but it depends on the food habit. Most of the young people likes street food. You can find multi Cuisine in Gulshan, Dhanmondi, Baily Road, Uttara etc. If you want to try traditional food then Old Dhaka is famous for its different food like Biriyani, Lassi etc.
Is the nightlife good in Dhaka? Where is good to go?
Like other big cities in the world night is not much flamboyant. If want to enjoy bar or any party you have to go to the hotels. Since, it is Muslim country, it is prohibited to sell any sort of alcohol in open place and organize any party.
What advice would you give future students heading to Dhaka?
If you can tolerate the jam of Dhaka city you can enjoy the whole country with single tip with a minimum cost. And hospitality will remove your all burden. Here, food is too spicy. so you have to keep in mind.
