What is it like to live in Dhaka? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

One of the most crowdiest city in the world. There have been 30 million people living in the capital and you shall find the city never sleeping!

What is the student lifestyle like in Dhaka?

Bangladeshi People are welcoming and the students should get greater benefit of it. However finding accommodation is not so easy. The city is overcrowded and thus long traffic jam, heavy dust in air and hot weather could make a foreign student crazy.

How much does it cost to live in Dhaka?

Living is very much affordable. At a cost of 5 US dollars, one can very nice lunch. Somewhere, it may be even less.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Dhaka? Is there any advice you can give?

Indeed, unless it is taken care by the local. The secured area like Gulshan diplomatic zone, it can cost really much.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I lived the food. If someone is crazy on Indian type food, it would be even better there. However, I would recommend avoiding spicy foods unless you become accustomed to it.

What places would you recommend visiting in Dhaka?

For Food lover, one can visit Banani area for western food or even visit Puran Dhaka to test the local and heritage food with greater taste. They would spicy and oily of course.

Is it good to eat out in Dhaka? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Oh yes! Many places to explore foods.

Is the nightlife good in Dhaka? Where is good to go?

Yes! there have many places for nightlife. However, lone-dark roads are recommended to avoid for one's personal security from hijacking or pick-pocketing.

What advice would you give future students heading to Dhaka?

A very welcoming city that would offer a student the cultural shock at the beginning but will turn him/her as a local one with shorter periods!
