Helsingør
The introduction
Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine!
In this article I want to tell you about this place outside the city of Copenhagen, which is not very far from it and visiting it gives you a pleasure, because there are lots of things to see and visit there, and, besides, you get to see the ocean and the beach there is really wonderful and there’s this port, too, where there are lots of boats parked there and the view is just amazing. Though it was summer, when I visited the shore, it was still pretty windy and not very hot to swim there or something like that and I didn’t even know whether it was possible to swim there or not, because there was no one swimming in the sea, however, there were people walking around, hanging out with friends or with their dogs, etc. and they were just enjoying the view of the ocean there and the Kronborg castle, which stands there near the shore.
So that, the place they call it Helsingør, however, you may know it as Elsinore, but the trains have it as Helsingør still, so that, don’t get confused.
How to get there
Well, the Helsingør is just 45 km away from Copenhagen, so that you need somewhere about 1-hour drive till you get there, if you want to know the truth, and there are some ways of getting there.
To tell you the truth, I didn’t really know how to get there, because I didn’t know the routes and I couldn’t really ask anyone about it, so that I just had my Google Maps on and searched for the routes and, to be honest, it did really help me, because I went to Helsingør on my own with the help of the Google Maps. However, it was my first trip outside the city of Copenhagen, so that I had a little difficulty about getting on the right train and things like that. Well, it turned out, that a small piece of the railway to this Helsingør was being reconstructed, and that’s why it was impossible to go there directly by train and I had to get off from it somewhere and then get on the bus and get to Helsingør by that bus.
At first, I went to this train and got on and I knew, that I had to go to this station called Norrebro, however, when we got there the train went back and I didn’t get what was happening. Then a girl went into this same cabin where I was and I asked her how I would get to Helsingør, however, she didn’t really know, I mean, she was not sure, however, then we searched and decided, that I had to get to another train, which went to another direction. Well, until I went out, this train started off and I went back to where I started, I mean, I was in the same railway station in Copenhagen, where I went into the train. So that I decided to make sure, that I went to the right train this time. Fortunately, I found this group of students, who were going to the Kronborg castle, which is in Helsingør and I heard them talking about Hamlet and things like that and that’s why I went to them and asked them if they were going to Helsingør, and they said, that they were going there, and they knew how to get there, so that I could just go there with them and not worry about the road. So, we went together to this Helsingør.
