Raging Taco and Burrito

I love the city of Decatur. The artsy vibe is amazing and there are a ton of great restaurants. Today, I tried a new one: Raging Taco and Burrito. It's been on the Decatur square for a while, and I was glad to give it a try at lunch time. 

It was great to find out that since I was ordering-in between 11:00 - 15:00 on a weekday, I got free chips and dip! On Tuesdays, the dip is chili con queso, but because I don't eat cheese, the server offered to switch it to salsa. I also ordered a small guacamole, and this was the best idea ever. The guacamole at Raging Taco is very flavorful and was chock full of fresh avocados. 

For my meal, I ordered the 2-Taco plate. I chose to try the veggie tacos, so I got one Fajita Veggie taco (chose the tofu) and a Delicious! Full on Veggie taco. I chose the side salad with my plate, which had a tasty cilantro-lemon dressing. 

I am a huge fan of Chipotle, which is a fast-food chain Mexican restaurant that is prevalent in the southern states. So, I was hoping to have my Chipotle experiences topped by the Raging Tacos I was ordering. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. The tacos I ordered had a bit of underlying Asian flavor, which was interesting to have on a taco. The tofu, for example, was definitely marinated in an Asian sauce. It wasn't my favorite flavor combination, but I would be interested to hear how my meat-loving friends like the other taco and burrito options. It was good to have veggie options that had so many nutritious ingredients, but the combination didn't really suit my taste. 

I will definitely go back to the Raging Taco and Burrito to try some of their other dishes and see if I like those better. I saw that they have veggie options on the burrito menu as well. And I will remember to order the guacamole, which successfully redeemed my first experience. 

The customer service at Raging Taco was exceptional and the server was always checking back to make sure that I didn't need any changes or additional items. One of the managers or owners also walked around to see how everyone was doing and to get feedback on the food. It was nice to see such great interaction between the management and customers.
