Marble Mountains - Đa Nang City

Leaving Da Nang Museum with impressive, unforgettable memorie, we stopped at Ngu Hanh Son Mountains (otherwise known as Marble Mountains).

Marble Mountains is the common name of a landscape of 6 limestone mountains exuding a sandy beach, including: Kim Son, Moc Son, Thuy Son, Hoa Son (including two tops) and Tho Son. It located about 8 km southeast of Da Nang city center, directly on Da Nang - Hoi An.

Besides, a few years back, according to my friend living in Da Nang, they have opened the elevator system so that visitors can just up the mountain, and can enjoy the view around. I came to visit Ngu Hanh

Each elevator in Ngu Hanh Son can carry 20 guests. The price of a ticket to go sightseeing at the Thuy Son mountain is 30,000 two way ticket. I visited the Marble Mountains in 2014, when there was no lift system so we had to climb the mountain for 30 minutes. Actually I do not tire of climbing, but in case you do not have much time to visit Marble Mountains, you can take the elevator. Furthermore, I am absolutely in favor of building elevators, for example elderly people or pregnant women will be very difficult for them to climb up the mountain.

However, if I now visit the Marble Mountains, I still choose to walk to relax. With this option, I can zoom in and out of the beautiful landscape of Danang City.

First, I went to the Marble Mountains because I heard the legend of the Marble Mountains.

THE LEGEND OF THE MOUNTAIN

According to the legend of the Cham people, a long time ago there lived an old fisherman amid the vast sand beach on the coast. One day, the old man saw a huge dragon-crocodile delivery, he came here to lay his eggs. Suddenly from where a yellow turtle shows up, claiming to be Kim Quy, digging the sand buried eggs, then handed the old man a pedicle, and teaches how to look at the dragon eggs.

Thanks to the goddess turtle, he has prevented hawks and other wildlife from invading the hatchery. After that, the egg is growing. Until one day, the egg hatched into a beautiful young woman, and the eggshell split into five pieces, becoming the five mountains with five names in accordance with five key elements of nature in Asian conception. Do not know if you can guess?

Yes, they are: Mental, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth.

Mental Mountain.

Mental Mountain is located in the north. I saw the mountain shape looks like a bell-shaped bell, and next to the river stretches along the Han River. Today, the river has been partly filled with rice fields and ponds. Lying on the back of this mountain is the ancient Quan Am Pagoda with a mysterious cave. I'm going to visit again.

Wood Mountain

Wood Mountain is located in the southeast, lying parallel to Mount Shui. Although named "carpentry", but I see the trees here are very few. Moreover, I see that the mountainside in the north and south of the rock mining activities should look like a mountain of broken walls.

Water Mountain

I thought this was the most beautiful mountain on Marble Mountains. Because the mountain has three peaks located on three levels, like the three stars in the constellation Ursa Major, so it is also called Three Stars Mountain. This is the largest, highest and most beautiful mountain, often visited by many.

Fire Mountain

Hoa Son in the southwest, opposite Kim Son island, on the left side of Su Van Hanh Street. I did not know why they called it Fire Mountain. If it is red, then this is not a red color. However, I bet they name enough.

Finally it's Earth Mountain,

Earth Mountain

According to legend, Earth Mountain is a sacred place, and from ancient times, Cham people have chosen this place as a garrison. There are still traces of Cham architecture.

Probably because this is where many talented people are born so they call it Earth Mountain.

The caves of the Himalayas are numerous, but the most famous are the Cave of Avalokiteshvara (Mental Mountain), the Huyền Vi Cave (Fire Mountain) and the Hell Cave (Water Mountain). All day long, all I had to do was visit the Avalokiteshvara Cave and the Hell Cavve. Although these caves are not bulky but sacred mystical beauty associated with the legendary.

However, my friend in Da Nang told me that the most beautiful cave to mention is Huyen Khong Cave on Thuy Son Mountain. This is a dynamic way, when entering the cave you do not have the feeling of astonishing but very dry and cool.

The most horrible thing I have to mention is the Amphitheater, which is the largest and most mysterious of Ngu Hanh Son. This is the sound, the more mysterious with the darkest of animations, when entering this place people feel the most human birth.

Coming to Ngu Hanh Son, I had the feeling of being lost in the clouds. A majestic setting seemingly lost in the mysterious cloud forest. Experience the stone steps leading up to the Marble Mountains of Thuy Son. Between the romantic space dreaming, watching the sunshine rays from the top of the cobblestones between incense smoke, plants and bell temple, watching the masterpiece of nature. carved millions of years on the cliffs as in the quiet realm.

At the Avalokiteshvara cave, I met a German friend, who looked at the monolith of Monkey King, and found it really strange. Well, when asked why do you look at it like that? How long?

He answered:

“ Because it looks like King Kong  in the action movies of America.”

I really laughed out loud for this lovely answer.

Avalokiteshvara Cave is one of the caves that is very special compared to other caves, located at the foot of the mountain, the mouth of the cave back to the southwest, outside the mouth of the cave cloak as deliberately covered. cover up, camouflage

We have to climb into the door, the two sides of the cliffs up, the mouth of the small cave downward direction, negative against the ground, the deeper and deep into the feeling of cool.

After I got inside, the cave grew, bulging like a huge seed of seeds that was sprouting. I felt the cave is quite long and must be 100 meters.

Furthermore, since it is closed to the majority of open kicks in the Marble Mountains, I feel a bit stifling. However, I found this cave has more stalactites, stalactites here are colorful, diverse shapes, clear lines, sharp, seems to have the hands of artisans.

When I first came to the door, the first highlight I saw was the statue of the Avalokiteshvara  which was  as tall as a real man with a glittering jewelry, crystallized from the rare precious metal of nature. , holding the water bottle, eyes looking towards the end of the movement. Moreover, I noticed at the foot of the statue a picture of a naturally curved dragon in the legend of Avalokiteshvara riding on a dragon, breaking the waves of fearlessness and hardships to save people in distress at sea.

By the way, I was impressed by stalactites creating strange, interesting figurines, which are fairy chess players, are crystalline stone but exist before our eyes as a very real picture.

In the middle of the ceiling, about 0.3 m long, a long stalactite stalks down, when tapping into the sound created like a real bell, (this is a special rare stalactites in the Ngu Hanh Son Cave), people This is called the Buddhist ritual while I think it is simply a masterpiece of nature

Before leaving the cave, the closing space made me feel this was the end of the cave. But in fact, after I was about 2 meters behind, the space opened again with a large, cool fresh water pool, water flow from the Co Co River, purified through the marble layer. very pure. From this purity, one imagines the flow of divine grace, the water flowing from the love of every soul watering the universe, from the love of Avalokiteshvara.

From the top of the mountain, I zoomed out and looked at Non Nuoc beach.

NON NUOC BEACH

It was such a beautiful for me, with white sand beach smooth, sloping gentle, smooth waves. Sea water is not polluted, clean, attract tourists in and out of the country to Da Nang tourism.

Well, I should have visited that beach.

NON NUOC TRADITIONAL STONE CARVING VILLAGE

To finish the visit to Marble Mountains, I would like to introduce and famous Non Nuoc stone handicraft village - a famous traditional stone carving village in Da Nang.

Entering the village, I was impressed by the artwork made from stone. Each of these works expresses the essence and the essence of the artisans - who understand each stone, each stone and blows the soul with its talent and enthusiasm.

Moreover, what I like here is that the products of the Non Nuoc stone village are sculptures with typical culture features high arts and rich as Buddha statues, statues, statues, the statue of animals ..., round bracelets smooth color, sophisticated carving, meticulous.

However, the price was too expensive, so my family did not buy anything. However, I still recommend you if you have the time to visit this stone carved village.

With the general overview on the Marble Mountains, I hope to help your Da Nang travel will be completing, useful and meaningful!
