Nutella crepes in Copenhagen
The introduction
Who doesn’t like Nutella?! Well, I love Nutella and I can eat the whole thing all alone. It’s like a dream come true and I always have some cravings for it, I guess, that’s mostly because of its ingredients, which is the nuts! If Nutella was just a chocolate paste with some cacao, then I would probably not like it that much. However, since it has nuts in it, too, which gives it that special taste of Nutella, I like it so much, that I can buy that 200 grams of Nutella jar or whatever and eat it right away.
So, just like me, I know, that there are many people around, who are crazy about Nutella and having it on breakfast or at lunch or whatever. There are, of course, some others, too, who doesn’t like it and they prefer some other chocolate paste to Nutella. Crazy, right?
Well, Nutella is so popular, that they even have it on menus in cafes and places like that and there’s this one popular dessert, which is Crepe with Nutellaand people just love it. They spend too much money to have it as lunch, rather than preparing it themselves. And, trust me, it’s not that cheap. And it gets even more expensive if you tell them to put some banana slices in the crepe.
Nutella crepes in Copenhagen
This summer I visited Copenhagen and I spent a couple of weeks there, so that I kind of got to know some things about the life in Copenhagen and things like that, so that it was easier for me to move around the city by the end of my being there. Well, that usually happens and it’s pretty sad, however, if you are going back there some day, you won’t need to get accustomed to the life of that city again and it’s like this allergic reaction, when once you have a contact with an allergen, then you will have the reaction again when you meet that one again.
Well, I must say, that it was not that easy to get to know all of the Copenhagen, of course, however I still managed to do some things about it.
You know, it was pretty surprising and exciting to know, that there were these Nutella Crepe wagons in many places all over the city and people were just keen on getting there and having their orders served. They were really glad, that there were these kind of wagons around and they would just stand in those long lines in front of those Nutella crepe wagons just to get their crepes. Many of them were with children and , well, you know, how children are , _ once they see something, they can not be argued or refused. So that, when children saw those huge Nutella jars, they just wanted to have some Nutella crepes.
I must tell you, that these Nutella crepe wagons were not some usual things, I mean, they were pretty clean and well-organised and it was really surprising, how those people could do that. I mean, there was only one girl or someone selling those Nutella crepes. And that person had to do everything, such as baking and cleaning and preparing and cutting and taking orders and taking money and returning the change, etc. And these people did their job pretty well considering all the things , that they had to do at the same time.
Well, to be honest, I don’t know how they manage to do everything there with that small wagon, however, they do some pretty good job there.
If you are interested, the very first thing you do, probably is to go to the Stroget _ the longest shopping street in Copenhagen and there you will find this Nutella crepe wagon just in front of that catholic church, which is just nearby Sostrene Grene and Lego store. It’s in aan open space, so that many people can get there and get into the line.
I must tell you, that the prices are not cheap. In fact, they are pretty expensive, especially those ones with bananas in them, too. However, I know, that Nutella costs pretty expensive, so that’s why the crepes with Nutella are so expensive, I guess.
Noticing the Nutella crepes wagon is pretty easy and, first of all, you will notice those huge Nutella jars and some of them even had those Minions on them, I guess, those were some special Nutella jars for a short period of time.
Nutella Crepe recipe
Well, maybe you are wondering, how those crepes are prepared, because maybe you want to prepare them at home, or maybe you are just interested in what those crepes are made of. So that, I will tell you about the preparation of those crepes and then how Nutella and banana slices are added to those crepes.
Ingredients:
- Milk, 0.5 litre
- Eggs, 2 medium
- All-purpose flour, 300 grams
- Oil, 1 tablespoon
- Nutella chocolate paste
- Banana, 2-3 medium
- Chocolate topping
Preparation process
- First of all, you should prepare the crepes, of course. You pour the milk into a bowl and then add the eggs to it and mix them well together.
- After that, you add the flour to the mixture little by little mixing occasionally.
- You should also add one tablespoon oil and mix them well.
- After some mixing, the dough is ready and you can have it poured onto the frying pan and that’s just it, the crepes will be ready in some minutes.
- You know, some people even skip the milk and they use the water instead of that, so that it’s even simpler that way and even cheaper, than having the milk in your crepes.
- After the dough is ready, you should have the frying pan with some greased oil heated and ready for the dough.
- You should take a large tablespoon of the dough and pour it on the frying pan, so that the pan will be filled with the dough.
- You should wait for about 2 minutes for the dough to get cooked on one side and then turn the dough on the other side and let it get cooked, too.
- After that, you just take the crepe out of the frying pan and put it on a large plate or something like that for it to get cooled down.
- Then, you can just add anything to the crepes, that you want.
- You can have that Nutella chocolate paste added to the crepe and then slice the bananas and add some slices on the crepe and have some chocolate topping poured onto it, too.
- Usually they grease the half of the crepe with Nutella chocolate paste and then they put about 4 slices of banana and then they fold the crepe four times, so that it’s like a triangle shaped and then they pour the chocolate topping and they also add some sugar powder onto it.
