Eastern Antioquia is full of places that deserve to be visited at least once in a lifetime. And, surely, yor breath will be taken away by its beauty. The unique landscapes, scenery, nature, cities, make eastern Antioquia an environment full of enchantment.

What to visit in eastern Antioquia

The rock of Guatapé

El Peñol is a monolith of 220 meters high. A natural emblem, currently well traveled by mountain sports and climbing lovers. It is located in the middle of the dam of Guatapé and has an access for tourists with no less than 649 steps going through a side of the stone. It gives the visitor spectacular views at the end of its path.

Streets of Guatapé

Some further 70 kilometers from Medellin there is Guatapé, a natural enclave on the banks of El Peñol Reservoir. Guatapé is a small and colorful village, perfect spot to be dazzled by its optimism, the beauty of its tones, its houses and landscapes. In addition, the city has a temperate climate that allows you to enjoy its environment and the opportunity to practice seamlessly water and mountain sport throughout the year.

Lovers of nature and water can not help but visiting the famous Truchera of Guarne, where they could spend a day fishing, enjoying its scenic beauty and tasting its tranquility, things done without haste, and the people living there.

El Retiro

32 kilometers south of the city of Medellín we stumbled on the road of El Retiro, a municipality known for hosting the reserve of San Sebastián la Castellana. dazzled by seven viewpoints from which to observe valleys, meadows and unique landscapes. If you watch a sunrise or sunset in these lands, you would never forget it.

El Carmen del Viboral
