The Dom
I will start this blog with the emblem of the city of Cologne, which is the Kölner Dom cathedral.
It took a little over 600 years to build this cathedral. It's located next to Cologne Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). It's possible to go inside from 6 a. m. to 9 p. m. . There are beautiful stained glass windows to contemplate, altarpieces (see below) and the Shrine of the Three Kings, a chest that contains remnants of the "Three Kings of Cologne".
It's possible to climb one of the two towers (the one on the right when you are facing the main entrance of the cathedral). However, the entrance to this tower costs 4 euros. In addition, to reach the top of the tower, you must climb 532 steps.
But if this doesn't scare you, I have only one thing to say, go for it, you will not be disappointed for having climbed all these steps.
