It is a very beautiful city, where you can find peace and calm in the parks, or events, shops and people whenever you want. I would recommend it for exchange students who want a human-sized city, with everything needed for a student's life =)

People are open-minded and nice to everyone, a lot of parties happen within university groups, there are events for everybody, students have good prices everywhere...

How much does it cost to live in Clermont-Ferrand?

An appartment costs a normal price, and it is cheaper with roommates. Students can buy food in discount stores, and they can have good prices in restaurants, shops, events...

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Clermont-Ferrand? Is there any advice you can give?

It is the same as in every student city I guess. You can register to the CROUS, student association that can help you find a cheap accommodation, or go on the Internet to find roommates.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is very good here! Very rich, but interesting to discover. You can taste snails, frogs, fish, cheese...

What places would you recommend visiting in Clermont-Ferrand?

I recommend to go to the Cathedral, and to go on the top, to shop around Place de Jaude, to climb the Puy-de-Dôme mountain, don't forget the Lecoq Garden, the concert hall La Coopé, and much more!

Is it good to eat out in Clermont-Ferrand? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Here there are a lot of restaurants that cook with potatoes, cheese, famous dishes of this part of the country like Truffade, Aligot... also Italian and Asian restaurants, and very known fastfoods. There are nice retsaurants in the Rue des Gras, and around Place de Jaude.

Is the nightlife good in Clermont-Ferrand? Where is good to go?

There are a lot of good bars around Place de Jaude! Like The Baker Street, the Bell's, the Still, The Captain's Cabin. Also some nice nightclubs like SpringBreak, Middle Night... And concerts in bars!

To enjoy everything, but be careful if you walk alone during night time!
