What is it like to live in Chisinau? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Chisinau is a small city which makes it easy to reach each sector of the city(it has 5 sectors ) in less than 40 min. During summer and spring the city is extremely green since it has lots of parks and trees. As for the architecture, nowadays there are lots of new buldings which renew the city and old historical buildings are situated only in the center of the capital. It seems to be a monotonous life in Chisinau during the week, however in weekends the excitement starts. There are lots of coffee shops, bars, restaurants, pubs, clubs, and people in Chisinau really like to party. So, for young people it is NOT boring to live in Chisinau.
What is the student lifestyle like in Chisinau?
Student lifestyle in Chisinau is not different from other countries or cities, except the fact that it's cheaper to partyduring weekends. We have libraries, student meeting points, free wifi in parks.
How much does it cost to live in Chisinau?
Living in Chisinau is not so expensive, food and beverages are also cheaper than in most European cities.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Tha food is very tasty and it's not spicy. There are various meat and fish dishes, and very tasty traditional soups as well like zeama and borsch. Very famous is also the moldavian cheese pie and mamaliga (similar to italian polenta).
What places would you recommend visiting in Chisinau?
Statue of Stefan cel Mare, Central Park and Cathedral park, Presidential Palace, The Park Complex Mills Valley, Theaters, Wine cellars Tour, Victory Memorial, Exhibitions on wine days in October.
Is it good to eat out in Chisinau? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
It is very good and relatively cheap to eat out in Chisinau. Best spots are considered: Veranda, La sarkis, Andy's Pizza, La placinte, Mi Piace, and Vasabi Sushi Bar.
Is the nightlife good in Chisinau? Where is good to go?
The nightlife is great in Chisinau and not expensive. The best places to go: Drive Club, Cocos Prive, and Booz Time (latino dances).
What advice would you give to future students heading to Chisinau?
