What is it like to live in Casablanca? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
The city is huge, you'll need a guide so that you do not get lost, it's a loud city , still, it's a gorgeous one , it has a fair amount of monuments, if you get bored, you can head to the morocco mall for different activities, or to the aïn diab beach, where there are tons of restaurants clubs... etc
What is the student lifestyle like in Casablanca?
The city has a fair amount of universities, schools and institutes, most of them are public ones.
Concerning the living costs, it's a bit high, considering that casablanca is the financial capital of the country, most of the students use tramway to travel through the city, which cost 7 dirhams per trip.
How much does it cost to live in Casablanca?
The cost to live in Casablanca depends on which area are you staying in, the highest living cost can be found near the sealine, around ain diab beach, maarif and califonia bay, where a single bedroom can reach up to 4000 dh=400€, for the food you can get a great dinner for around 40dh=4€ .
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Casablanca? Is there any advice you can give?
If you are registered in a private university, you are lucky, since you are provided with a room , if not you will need to put on some walking shoes and look for a single or double bedroom in an apartment.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Tasty, varies from traditional to modern dishes. Personally, I prefer cooking, since it turns out to be cheaper, but if I ever go out, there is a variety of fast food places such as Mcdonald, Quick, tacos de lyon... etc
What places would you recommend visiting in Casablanca?
The Hassan II mosque, the morocco mall, gate of Marrakech, aïn diab beach, starbucks villa, the port .
Is it good to eat out in Casablanca? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes, I personally prefer a tacos franchise called Tacos de Lyon.
Is the nightlife good in Casablanca? Where is good to go?
Once the sun sets down, it's another life there, you could go out to eat with friends at fancy restaurants, or go to morocco mall where they have a musical fountain, or visit the clubs.
What advice would you give future students heading to Casablanca?
As in any major city in the world, there are some areas where it might be dangerous to go out alone at night or wave your cellphone, money or wallet in front of people, during your first moments there, try to learn the degree of security in your area and adapt to it, and have a good time.
