Movies in Cambridge

On one of the last days in Cambridge and in England, we decided to go to the cinema. There was a student discount on any film and us girls liked the idea. Boys didn't want to come to the movies, so there were just two of us.

There was a new film called "Devil". It was a horror movie and it was almost nightfall when it was on. The action takes place in a multistorey building. Some people get stuck in an elevator and they get killed and injured one by one by some monster, they don't know what it is or what it wants. Meanwhile, other people outside are trying and do their best to help those victims and get them out of the elevator alive. It was kind of scary because of the unexpected things and actions.

Nowadays movies are becoming more and more popular. The most surprising thing is that it only began about two centuries ago, in 1895. So, what was cool before movies? The answer is simple - books. But this simple answer it's getting more complicated, so I'll just say that before movies we had just our imagination plus books. The main point here is that the Lumière brothers made their mark in human civilization for forever. Of course, it wasn't an arm and a leg to make the first cinematograph, especially after the invention of photography. In addition, these two machines weren't a blessing in disguise, but they were above and beyond, I can say, because it's made our civilization level go up pretty high.

If someone asked a question: "are movies popular or not? '', there would be just one answer I guess, - "yes". Do you want to know why? There can be many reasons - all unique to each person living on the Earth.

First of all, movies make our lives more wonderful. They make us laugh, cry, love, suffer... Well, to be fair, not movies, but the directors and actors and people in movie industry do all that. Let's just say, with the help of movies, we can live as many lives as we want and quit them when we want, while in reality that is just not possible. We can just play a movie. And if it is not what we want or like, we can just watch another one. Approving of someone's character we can try our best and copy some habits we liked about this character.

Movies possess us. They help us be imaginative and creative. We can take advantages of them and think up original ideas, maybe have some inspirations. Movies can also help us relax or vice versa - they can make us do some actions, we can even feel adrenaline. They can also give us a stimulus, to find our feet or just make us want to change ourselves.

I personally like good comedy films, where I can laugh and be at peace, in short. First of all, like anyone else, I like good actors starring in comedy films, because I mainly laugh at actors' actions and movements, and so does everyone, I intend. Good horror films also appealing to me, where there are no such things as murders in excess, overblooded scenes, cut bodies, etc. For example, "Paranormal Activity" is a great horror movie for me, where there is no blood, but it makes your mind go crazy. It's a psychological horror movie. Most people like comedy films, because they are easy to watch and you can relax and have a good time.

Nowadays people watch 3D and 4D films and film industries shoot films in those dimensions, and every purge dimensions are just a chip on your shoulder. People ask for the moon and want more dimensions in movies. After all written above, one shouldn't ask why movies are popular, because if one does, they certainly don't know anything about films or movie industry. Well, a picture paints thousand words and everything we can imagine can become real in movies, that's what people like in them and that is why they are so popular. Everything's changing that had been add yet, but film industry is ahead of the game, I think. It's developing as the crow flies, while others go in curved ways and people acquire a taste for new line of movies very fast. In fact, that's what they like - changes and new styles. In movies their dreams come true!
