It can be found on Chávez 123 street, very close to what is known as the Plaza Grau del Callao, here we can breathe in the history of the glorious stages of history that Peru has experienced through the years.

The museum opened in 1917 with the move of the Corbeta Unión to the naval museum. Here you can find important items of Peruvian wealth, and as we explore further, we will mention the important members of Peruvian history who developed an important vision for the country.

The Naval Museum of Peru was funded by the military in the year 1901 in order to protect the relics that had been conserved over the course of Peruvian history during war-time. The first director of the museum was señor Julio Elías established in 1958 due to the museum being almost 60 years old.

Specifically dedicated to the Naval regiment of Peru, the museum holds historic documents, Naval uniforms, models of boats and relics that invite you to explore them again and again.

The museum was formed thanks to the donations received little by little by lovers of war-art, as a legacy we have important pieces that embody the life and times of famous people, like the Naval Officer the Gentleman of the Seas, the great Miguel Grau Seminario!

Its fitting installation and important location means it is in a display cabinet open to the world. As well as showing the development of Peruvian history, the Naval museum has been growing little by little and has become a place where you can continue finding historical relics from the past.

Their presentation is marvellous, especially if you are a lover of architecture and ship collections, the Nation's Naval relics are all here.

The Naval Museums are basically visited by scholars and historians alike, but there is no age limit to learning and be able to know more about the history of Peru, it is a way of learning and of respecting the events that have occurred through the passing of time.

For example, it is important to learn about the remains left behind from during the Pacific War between Peru and Chile, not with hopes of generating hostility, but only with the intent of understanding our similarities and to know the present enough in order to avoid making the same mistakes of the past.

The tour goes hand in hand with a tour guide, for example one of the most interesting things there is a flag from the Huascar ship which was under the command of Admiral Don Miguel Grau - The Gentleman of the Seas.

The museum describes everything that can be learnt about the long history of the sea, and without a doubt, the forerunner of all of this is the Peruvian of the Millenium, Miguel Grau.

A true gentleman, a Naval Officer who gave so much strength to the history of Peru and that has gained respect for Peruvians over the course of history.

The museum has a lot of things related to the Gentleman of the Seas, as well as receiving a guarantee from the Peruvian Navy along with other private Peruvian companies that have developed an interesting exhibition on how to be able to understand the present times through the study of the past.

The museum has a collection of photographs, canvases and weapons that will allow us to be taken into the most important and interesting moments of the Naval history of Peru.

The museum acts as a homage to Miguel Grau, along with all the other modern heroes of whom we speak of in this country, as well as information to tell us more about the nature of the sea.
