What is it like to live in Buenos Aires? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Buenos Aires is huge. It has everything; fashion, landscapes, parties, restaurantes of all kinds. It is a great city for young and adults. I would highly recomend it.

What is the student lifestyle like in Buenos Aires?

A student often travels a lot in Buenos Aires
Universities are mostly in the city. At night most students go over to bars in Belgrano, Palermo or particular parties in Tigre, San Isidro or Pilar. Buenos Aires has special events for students all year long mostly on wednesdays, thursdays, fridays and the weekend. Students party a lot on wednesdays and thursdays but everybody does during weekends.

How much does it cost to live in Buenos Aires?

Buenos Aires is cheep to almost every other country because the exchange rate is favorable for the rest of the world. We, porteños, struggle a little buit more.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Buenos Aires? Is there any advice you can give?

It is as easy as in any other city. I would recommend choosing somewhere safe rather than the cheapest and near the place where you will be all the time such as your univeristy if you are an exchange student. If i had to chose an apartment i woul pick one in Palermo because it is a place really secure, near to the places where you will go out at night and many young students live there.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is excellent. There is no place in the world that has the quality and the prices of our food combined. Empanadas, asado (barbeque, the best way to eat meat), dulce de leche and the dulce de leche ice cream are the best. Vegetables and fruits are also very very good.

La Boca, la Rural, Nordelta, el delta, el Puerto de frutos, shoppings, the obelisco, calle corrientes at night, zoológico de Buenos Aires, MALBA, Museo de Bellas Artes, Jardin Japonés, planetario.

Is it good to eat out in Buenos Aires? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It is great to eat out. I love Recoleta near to el cementerio de la recoleta and in zona norte, San Isidro, all the places along Av. del Libertador such as Las Olas or Kansas. Also im Zona norte, la bahia which is part of Nordelta has great spots. In Pilar, La porteña is a really good place to go and eat meat.

Is the nightlife good in Buenos Aires? Where is good to go?

the nightlife is 24/7 if you are willing to go out. There are tons of bars, places to damce, theatres and placea for stand ups. Bars in Palermo and Belgrano, places tu dance near the river, theatres and stand ups along Corrientes street . San Isidro and Pilar have a lot to ofer as well.

What advice would you give future students heading to Buenos Aires?

Take care of your things and dont travel in public transport at night. Use the subte during daylight and getting a sube card makes it easier. Dont be afraid. Just be carefull and enjoy that this city is amazing.
If your budget suits you, visit the provinces. The north (salta, jujuy and tucuman) incredible. MIsiones and the waterfalls in Iguazu are breathtaking, in Neuquen ans Rio Negro there are astonishing cities like Bariloche, san Martin de los Andes and in the South, glaciar perito moreno and puerto madryn.
