Experience in Buenos Aires, Argentina by Manuela

What is it like to live in Buenos Aires? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Vibrant, fun and welcoming city, full of activities and nightlife for every day of the week. People fall in love with the beautiful, european-style architecture combined with modern buildings and lots of parks. The weather is great, gastronomy is excellent, and foreigners are received with more than open arms. You will not be disappointed!

What is the student lifestyle like in Buenos Aires?

Amazing. Student lifestyle is just fun and entertaining. Lots of different activities for each taste, every day of the week. Beautiful cafés and cool universities are a plus.

How much does it cost to live in Buenos Aires?

It's expensive for locals because of inflation. If you come with dolars/euros or other currencies, you will live a fancy life.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Buenos Aires? Is there any advice you can give?

No, there are lots of cool and well located apartments you can find on airbnb, etc.
I would recommend a place near a metro station or bus stop, in neighborhoods such as Núñez or Palermo (where you have most restaurants and nightlife). Those are the most cool at the moment ;)

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Just INCREDIBLE. Lots of great, variated restaurants and cool bars. As a foodie/ picky eater, I can tell you you will want to try every place in town.

Is it good to eat out in Buenos Aires? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It's a must. I would definitely recommend: Sunae and Koko Bao bar for Chinese/asian food; Paru (expensive, posh place for locals), Osaka, Fabric Sushi for incredible Japanese/ Peruvian food; Tanta for Peruvian; Proper (one of my favs), Las Cabras and Don Julio for local food & excellent meat; and Café San Juan, Il Materello (La Boca) & Quotidiano for amazing pasta.

Is the nightlife good in Buenos Aires? Where is good to go?

EVERYWHERE! The offers are never-ending.
Definitely visit Makena, Tequila and Uptown (bar).

What advice would you give future students heading to Buenos Aires?

Just come for a fun and cool experience.
You will not want to leave I assure you that.
