Budapest - The sun will rise again in Heroic Budapest
Budapest 20h45 21st December 2017
I got to Budapest Airport after 3 hours flight from Barcelona (cheap ticket 30e = 750k)
The Budapest capital of Hungary is considered the pearl of Danude; on this Central European tour I will visit three out of four countries along the legendary river of Danude, the second largest river in Europe the Volga River flows through more than 10 countries.
However, only four countries of Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia are four main cultures which were formed along the Danube River; the Danube was also a large river representing the territory of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
(Habsburg Royal Family - The most powerful family in Europe - I will say after the opportunity to Madrid)
The capitals of Budapest welcome me with a temperature of -2 degrees Celsius. With the Catalan guy from the warm Mediterranean city of Tarragona, the first feeling is the cold air that carries a frosty cool air flowing through my throat. My head feels a bit dizzy, and then immediately an exhaustion of endogenous warmth escapes from my chest blowing out against the cold air.
Wow a feeling so strong, strong like you have conquered something big. Here simply thing is the quick adaptation of the body to the environment.
From the plane, a long walk is needed to enter the hall. It the small airport of Budapest is as small as T1 Noi Bai Airport. _ Noi Bai Airport is Vietnam International Airport in Ha NOi
There was an unexpected disappointment here, from the airport staff to the customs staff, the sad, gloomy faces of the Hungarian administration. Service staff's attitude in information center is not really professional and friendly, except the Budapest map they gave me.
It took a little work to get the Wi-Fi free of the station; from here I took the bus in the city center through a stop to stand a train station waiting for the train to go to Budapest City.
The old train station, across a pedestrian bridge, old, dirty, moldy like in Vietnam.
The Hungarian people are so friendly; at least they try to help me find train to go to in the city.
Waiting for a ship within 15 minutes under Hungarian weather may be cold but not cold,
I witnessed a scene quite touching; two couples are farewell a girl also catching the train to Budapest with me. Their clothes are old, not fashionable, just the people in the countryside, many farmers in Hungary are very poor, their children are sent to study and work in big cities such as Budapest.
On the way to Budapest City, on the side of the expressway, I could see many factories built along the highways the same as in Hanoi in which the highway to the city center passes through industrial zone, the street in Budapest is also quite the same as in Vietnam, perhaps because they are all constructed by the former Soviet Union, there are also the commercial area, which looks not as modern as Hanoi.
From the final stop of train, I walked to go to my friend’s flat, his name is Văn. He has got a scholarship from collaboration between Vietnam Government and Hungarian Government.
On the way to his house I have passed my bar with many Eastern Europe Girls, who looked as prostitutes.
Budapest is the center for low-cost prostitution in Europe, many girls working here are from Poor Eastern Europe Countries such as Rumania, Poland, Bulgaria, etch
Finally I was at home of my friend, it was an old building which I cannot describe the interior, black upholstery, large iron door with the door to open the door is a small lift is actually a temporary dwelling in the well . Feeling quite similar to some of the Kim Lien houses built from the subsidy period in Hanoi Vietnam.
My friend 's housee - one of the apartments here.
Going from the elevator to the corridor, this 6-storey apartment building, in the middle of a large courtyard, all four angles in between, from side to side, the old room, the door Small, no decor other than the sea is right. The apartment should have lived for many years.
Finally, the apartment of Van, Budapest's warm brother appeared, although small but all Vietnamese students together to share the house for cheap; however the atmosphere is very cozy despite of the cold weather of Budapest.
.... Chuck.
I went to sleep
I would spend four days exploring Budapest so there is no need to be in hurry.
Hero Square
Hungarian people are always proud of their thousands of years of national identity which can be seen in a large public square with its past monument called: The Hero Square.
Heroes Square (Hősök Tere) is one of the most visited areas in Budapest and was once the center of activities celebrating the millennial celebration of Hungary in 1896. The Millennium Monument, The towering figure is the symbol of the square. Designed by Albert Schickedanz for celebrations in 1894, it was not until 1929 that this monument was completed. Three years later, the area was named the Heroes Square.
The Millennium Monument is a 36 m high white pillar. At the top of the column is Archangel Gabriel. Statues representing war and peace, work and well-being as well as knowledge and glory are placed in the lower columns. Look at the statues of Árpád, the leader of the Hungarian people in the Carpathian Carpathian conquest of 895, and the seven Hungarian tribal chiefs on horseback around the campus.
During the Soviet occupation of Budapest, the square was a place where regular military celebrations and special communist celebrations took place. It is fitting that Imre Nagy, who led the Hungarian people in the 1956 uprising against the Soviet Union, was re-emptied in the square in 1989. The monument also includes the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Best to visit in the morning, when the square and park is not crowded. Walk around the campus about an hour, but do not forget to spend time visiting parks, galleries and museums. One side of the square is the Museum of Fine Arts (Szépművészeti Múzeum), the other is the Art Hall. The square is the main entrance to Varosliget and many attractions such as the Vajdahunyadvár Castle, the public zoo and the heated swimming pool.
Heroes Square and City Park do not charge entrance fees. Heroes Square is located in Pest, at the end of the promenade starting from the Danube River of Andrássy Boulevard. The ancient metro system is parallel to the subway line. Buses and trams also have stops in the square. From the walking square to the Danube it took less than an hour; the river is located about 3.2 km to the west.
Metro System
In Budapest there are four main metro: four main routes that take you to different senses,
M1 metro is a dark old metro line built in 1896, to the metro you will feel a return to the early subway.
The M3 was built by the Soviet Union in response to the Cold War bombing standards. Having undergone the Hungarian Democratic Revolution, it remains active to this day.
In addition, the newly built M2 and M4 show the face of Hungary during its opening and integration with the world economy.
4 metro lines, 4 different feelings but according to me, that is very meaningful for a city to go through many ups and downs of history as Budapest.
Christmas Market
Budapest Christmas Fair is being held at the Plaza of Victoria, central Budapest, Hungary.
Here you will learn more about the Hungarian arts and crafts and spoiled walking, shopping at the exhibition booth. Here you can listen to live bands playing music, shopping for handmade products like candles, clothing and Christmas decorations, enjoy traditional snacks and traditional Hungarian dishes such as garu, corn Pickled ...
I have tried to eat fish soup. This is a famous specialty of Hungary, moreover it is cold, and in addition to fruit wine is not heavy but mixed with sweet sugar, very good drink in this weather.
Ah forget it is Christmas: 24/12/2016 so in addition to hot wine, Christmas market I also hear Christmas music again. 3
I feel very warm and happy in the first Christmas in Europe
Hungarian Parliament
Moreover, I have visited some famous places in Hungary such as the National Parliament, the Hungarian Revolutionary War against the manipulation and control of the Soviet Union to visit the statue of liberty from here to view quite Nice that i can look over the city etc..
According to the history, Hungarian officials want to create a monumental commemoration on the occasion of a Millennium of founding the country in 1896, which is why they commissioned the Orszaghaz Palace to take the Westminster Palace in London as a source of sensitivities. Inspiration.
The Hungarian architect Imre Steindl created these impressive building plans and built it in a prominent position along the Danube River's Pest side. Placed in this flat central terrain, this place was chosen as the symbol of the new democratic government of the city, not the royal castle on the top of the hill.
The neo Gothic architecture here is characterized by turrets and arches. The Hungarian king and military commanders are present in over 90 monuments along the outer wall.
Budda castle
Buda Castle (Budai var) is part of World Heritage that needs international protection of Budapest thanks to the cultural significance and deep history of this building. The beauty of the Grand Castle on the bridge reflects the Danube River, creating a scene that tourists cannot ignore, especially when the city lights come in the afternoon. Visitors can find inspiring scenery at many points on the Budapest side of the Pest, especially from the Congress areas, or watch them while cruising down the Danube.
The Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty (Szabadság-szobor), or Statue of Liberty, is located in a prominent position on Gellért Hill in central Budapest west of the Danube. You can catch the statue by visiting Citadella, the giant fort originally inhabited by the Hapsburgs and later under Soviet control.
After World War II, the Hungarians were deeply grateful to the Soviet Union for their generous support in the battle, which helped the country escape from the Nazis' oppression. The statue was erected to commemorate the merits of this savior. The 14 m tall building is entirely made of copper, and is mounted on a pedestal nearly twice its height. The character holds a huge palm leaf rose above his head. The inscription was originally translated: "To commemorate the work of the liberated Soviet heroes set up by the eternal Hungarian people in gratitude in 1945."
If you pay attention, you will find out the difference in the current line, which can be translated as: "Remember all those who sacrificed themselves for Hungary's independence, freedom and prosperity." (1989)
Hungary Feeling
In the past, Hungary was the site of the war in World War I, where the Hungarian people's revolt against the Soviet Russia was suppressed.
If you have the chance to visit the Terror House, where many former Hungarians have been kidnapped by many Hungarians under the aspirations of independent self-imposed by the Soviet Union, You will probably understand some of the little Hungarian emotion that is immersed in the sea of fire in such a centuries.
(This is the current view popular in Hungary, I only express their views, not the personal perspective, also not necessarily objective)
The people of Hungary did not choose socialist at the beginning, for them it was like a chain of torment, holding back this tragic little country for so many years. Before the First World War, the Austro-Hungarian Empire flourished with a market economy and progressive education.
Generally through the ups and downs in history, perhaps my love for the tiny Hungarian nation that has been heroic has come partly from the sympathy with the situation of small countries under the domination of the influence of superpower.
In fact, the situation in Hungary is very like my country: Vietnam.
This situation is similar to that of Vietnam besides his ugly Chinese neighbors.
Despite the many difficulties, many pains, the Hungarian people are still here, the Heroes Square Heroes Square has always been visited by tourists as the Hungarian people for the ancestor’s.
I strongly believe that one day soon, one day in the near future.
There will be a day that the sun will shine on the heroic Budapest again.
Love you Budapest.. =)
