My experience in Bucharest, Romania by Tita
How did you find living in Bucharest? Would you recommend it as a city? What is it like?
The city would suit people who like to go out. The people are lovely and the cost of living is quite low.
What is student life like in Bucharest?
The atmosphere is lively and young.
What is the cost of living like in Bucharest?
Rent is relatively low, taxis are really cheap and the city is well served. Living in Bucharest won't break the bank!
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Bucharest? Any advice?
Not at all, it was really easy to rent an apartment/room, but hotels are expensive.
What was the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food is quite cheap and you'll find the same brands as in France. I recommend Zakuska which is a very nice local delicacy.
Where do you recommend visiting in Bucharest?
The historical city centre is pretty but the suburbs are a bit dull - the buildings remind me of the communist era and are mostly grey blocks of apartments - a bit like the French suburbs.
Is there anywhere you would recommend eating in Bucharest? Any favourites?
Restaurants aren't very expensive and there is a large variety.
