What is it like to live in Bucharest? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
I definitely recommend living in Bucharest. It is an amazing big city, with very much potential for foreigners. It has a great energy and many cultural attractions. People are very nice and hospitable.
What is the student lifestyle like in Bucharest?
Being a student in Bucharest means a lot of fun things to do. There is no exception. You have a lot of bars and restaurants, theatres, concert, circus and many more. Almost every student spends one or two hours after classes enjoying a cup of coffee with their colleagues.
How much does it cost to live in Bucharest?
The cost of living is not high compared to countries like Belgium, The Netherland, Germany, Greece. Renting a 3 bedroom apartment can be as cheap as €300 / month. An inexpensive meal at a restaurant is around €10. And a menu at McDonals is €6. Transportation include busses, trans, metro and taxis/uber. One buss or tram ticket is €0.4, while a double metro ticket is €1. An uber drive can cost as little as €2 for 2-3km. Be aware of the currency (Romanian RON / LEU)
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Bucharest? Is there any advice you can give?
It is not difficult at all, the city is very big. Be aware of neighbourhoods with bad reputation.

There are a lot of fast food restaurants but also at a slightly higher price many many good restaurants with delicious food.

The old town is definitely a place you will want to see everyday. It has a great vibe.

All restaurants have very good food. Many good fast food chains with different specialities. My favorite fast food restaurant is Dristor, a turkey pita place. Also, pizza places are everywhere and all meet our expectations.
Is the nightlife good in Bucharest? Where is good to go?
The nightlife is something you need to experience as a student. People in Bucharest know how to party.
What advice would you give future students heading to Bucharest?
Have fun and be careful, people are very friendly! It would be a good idea to already know how the culture is here because it is important to avoid a cultural clash.
