Living in Bucharest varies with the neighborhood. Overall, it is a nice city with many possibilities available, although there are also areas to be avoided. The city is the biggest in Romania, with helpful people and a calm atmosphere.

Student lifestyle is not too hard in Bucharest, although newcomers might have small issues in learning the language and all of its gimmicks.

How much does it cost to live in Bucharest?

Monthly expenses usually don't exceed 400 RON (~100eur), while rent varies with the chosen housing.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Bucharest? Is there any advice you can give?

Finding accomodation can be hard at first, but not impossible. There are many options to choose from, should you not find a room on campus.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is unique in its own regard. Atole and meatrolls are definetely worth trying out from the traditional dishes.

What places would you recommend visiting in Bucharest?

Bucharest has something for everyone, which makes it quite special. The city center and the northern neighborhoods are worth checking out, especially the Old Town and all around it.

Is it good to eat out in Bucharest? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I prefer fast food places when not eating at home. McDonalds' and KFCs' are everywhere

Be careful, be smart, look out when crossing the streets. Emphasis on the last one.
