Why did you decide to go to Bucharest, Romania?

I decided to go to Bucharest to be able to personally experience a country which is subject to so many prejudices. What's more, Romania has lots of cities and places to visit.

How long did the scholarship last? How much money did you get to help you?

6 or 12 months. Usually the scholarship is about 240 euro.

What's the student atmosphere like in Bucharest?

Very similar to ours.

Would you recommend the city and university of Bucharest to other students?

Yes.

What's the food like in Romania?

Not exceptional.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Bucharest?

No, there are agencies that crop up like mushrooms and that are useful while you're searching, you can just search 'apartment to rent in Bucharest'.

How much does it cost to live in Bucharest?

300-400 a month easily.

How did you get on with the language? Did you take any university courses?

Yes, the university offers a course in Romanian for Erasmus students.

What's the cheapest way to get to Bucharest from your city?

I fly with Wizzair.

Where would you recommend to go out in Bucharest?

The centre of Bucharest, but most Erasmus evenings happen in other students' apartments, spontaneous parties.

And what about places to eat? Can you tell us about your favourite places?

Street food here and there, I preferred to cook for myself.

And what about cultural things to see?

Theatres, museums, shows, concerts, the historical centre, Dracula's castle in Transilvania, and even more still. There will be more information when you get there.

Have you got any advice for future students in Bucharest?

The world is an open book. If you don't travel, you'll only see one page.
