El Café

El Café is a popular tex mex bar and restaurant located a stones throw from the cimtière d'Ixelles. The restaurant serves classics such as burgers, salades, club sandwiches, wok, pasta and steak as well as popular mexican dishes including fajitas, tacos, burritos, enchilladas and chili con carne for an extremely reasonable price, students from all over Brussels come here to enjoy the great food and soak up the atmosphere. Theres a large outdoor and indoor seating area which make it great for both smaller and larger groups. However, perhaps the main attraction to this thriving café is the happy hour serving two for one on all cocktails from 19:00 to 21:00 EVERY DAY!!! With over 21 cocktails this means it is the perfect place to hang out with friends for a catch up or a gossip. They serve the cocktails not only as glasses but also in sharing carafes if you can pick jut one between you! The menu is so varied with something for everyone the only problem will be deciding between the delicious options available. If you're not in the mood for alcohol they also serve delicious milkshakes and a lovely mint tea made with fresh mint. In the evening, the tables are cleared and El Café becomes a dancing space. Tunes from through the years blast out and whilst some choose to dance others choose to gather on the benches located around the room or in tables in the corner. The photo machine is also popular allowing customers to take photos and email them to themselves. With a glass of wine at 3 euros theres little need to drink beforehand and El Café is the perfect place to make new friends and dance with strangers until 3am.
