Experience in Brighton, United Kingdom by Georgia

What is it like to live in Brighton? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It's very lively and friendly, with plenty to do if you're a young person. It's famously got a large LGBT community, and is great for families and students. The weather is about average for a town in Britain, but it seems to benefit from being on the south coast by the sea. It has an endless supply of cafes and pubs and clubs, and lots of eccentric little shops.

What is the student lifestyle like in Brighton?

There are plenty of students in Brighton, so you won't be alone. There is plenty to do socially, and Brighton University and Sussex University are a short train ride away.

How much does it cost to live in Brighton?

It is quite expensive to live in Brighton; I read that it is the second-most expensive British town after London. Rents are high and it can get quite competitive finding a place. You also get quite a few high-charging restaurants, but mostly social life is very good value in Brighton.
