What is it like to live in Bratislava? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Bratislava is a small but busy city which gets more international every day. There is plenty of foreigners studying or working here and I think it is a great place to live.

What is the student lifestyle like in Bratislava?

You can enjoy many discounts as a student and also dormitories are super cheap comparing other countries (the quality is not that good but you will have amazing people around you).

How much does it cost to live in Bratislava?

I would say the prices are accurate. The accommodation (renting a flat) may get a bit expensive but the rest is OK.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Bratislava? Is there any advice you can give?

To all the students coming to Bratislava, I definitely recommend finding a room in one of the dormitories in Mlynská Dolina. Thousands of students live there, it is cheap and you can find everything you need there (cheap food, party, gym... ).

What is the food like? What are your favorite dishes?

Typical Slovak food is potato dumplings with sheep cheese and bacon. I recommend to try it but the taste of the cheese is very specific so...

In general you can find every type of cuisine in Bratislava.

What places would you recommend visiting in Bratislava?

Bratislava's castle, St. Martin's Cathedral, great views from the UFO tower, go hiking... There are so many things to do.

Is it good to eat out in Bratislava? Can you tell us your favorite spots?

Great pizza in: Sapori Italiani (U taliana). A little bit fancier but not very expensive.

Is the nightlife good in Bratislava? Where is good to go?

You can find many places to have a really good party. I would say: BarRock, Trafo, Masquerade, Havana + Unique(in Mlynská Dolina) are one of the most famous places to go.

What advice would you give future students heading to Bratislava?

Just have fun and enjoy!
