Why did you choose to go to Bratislava, Slovakia?
Because of the university. The Comenius university is between 500 top universities in the world. They have really good teaching and it has also English speaking groups. The town is not chaotic, you don't need more than half hour to go from one part of the town to the other if you use the means of transport.
Also, Vienna, Prague, Brno and Budapest are really close so you can go there for vacations.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
Scholarships per year are 200-800€ depending on the degree.
What is the student lifestyle like in Bratislava?
It depends on the studies. It's different when you study medicine or something else. For medical student, it depends on the year but generally they have to study. The town has a lot of "students cafés", and generally a lot of places to discover.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Bratislava to other students?
For sure yes :)
What is the food like?
Ok, it's not really my ideal food but there are a lot of places with tasty food and and most of them are not expensive.
How much does it cost to rent an apartment in Bratislava?
For a fully renovated apartment in the center, like 10' away (on foot) from the university of medicine, fully furnished 10-15€/m2. But if you go 10' away(tram) it can be also from 5€/m2.
How much does it cost to live in Bratislava?
You need at least 400€/month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
The language is strange (at least for me), but there is also English teaching.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Bratislava from your city?
Airplane but people from other countries come by bus, train or car.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Bratislava?
It depends on what you want to do.
