Erasmus Experience in Bratislava, Slovakia by Riyadh
Why did you choose to go to Bratislava, Slovakia?
To be straight forward I knew little about Bratislava, but it turned out to be a good choice, everything it´s near with great transport services, turned out to be a good time.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I only applied for half semester and I got 1000 euros in total. The costs in Bratislava it´s not so cheap as we think, it´s much the same as Portugal for me.
What is the student lifestyle like in Bratislava?
It´s awesome, everyone erasmus knows each other being a small city you frequently go to the same places.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Bratislava to other students?
Yes I would recommend as you in the weekends can travel all over europe because of the position of Bratislava being close to many big cities.
What is the food like?
Not so good to be clear, but still you can many dishes to your choice.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Bratislava?
I little, if you´re not staying at the dorms you need to be sharp as the prices for erasmus its higher you can get up to 400 euros for a room in the city center.
How much does it cost to live in Bratislava?
As much the same as Portugal for me.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
It´s not so difficult, you just need to lear some words but if you want the course there´s many options available at the faculty.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Bratislava from your city?
Surely to Vienna by plain than you catch the bus to Bratislava (1 hour) and you pay just 5 euros and there is every one hour I think.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Bratislava?
There´s some places just go to the City Center as most of the restaurants and bars are there.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Bratislava?
Many, city center is you place.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Not so much, just the Devin Castle, Slavic War Memorial.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Bratislava in the future?
Come with a open mind and learn from the experience !!
