What is it like to live in Brasília? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I like the space and green area. But you have to have a car. Public transport is awful.

What is the student lifestyle like in Brasília?

Students may like Brasília if they have a car. Lots of pubs and sports clubs.

How much does it cost to live in Brasília?

It depends. For Brazilian patterns, a little bit expensive. But in terms of Europe, I would say it's cheap (at the current exchange rate).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Brasília? Is there any advice you can give?

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. There are students accommodation and some students rent "kitnets" or share apartments.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

One can eat in restaurants that sale food by weight (self-services per kilo).

What places would you recommend visiting in Brasília?

I like sports, so I recommend clubs, if one gets to know a local that is affilieted to any, like Iate Clube de Brasília, the best one.

Pier 21 and Pontão are places young people use to go.

I cannot say for myself, because I prefer stay at home. But my sons use to go out a lot.

What advice would you give future students heading to Brasília?

Be careful. Brasília, as any big city in Brazil, has serious security issues.
