What is it like to live in Brasília? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Brasília is the capital of Brazil!! I LOVE it here, the city is a designed and planned city and architecture here is very modernist, there are a lot of interstings monuments! Popular saying it has the shape of a plane, and also has a lake. The citys is divided as the plane: noth wing, south wing and there is the monumental axe where all the importants buildings of the city are: the cathedral, the momorial of the president JK, the tower and everything else. By the lake there are a lot of restaurants and good places to go, I sure recommend it!!

What is the student lifestyle like in Brasília?

For a student I think its a bit hard, because everything is too far away and public transportation is not very good. But If you live next to the school is sure easier!!

How much does it cost to live in Brasília?

Brasília is very expensive. Its the city of politcs and public service, so everything here is a little bit higher then other cities. I like to say that Brasília is Brazil's New York.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Brasília? Is there any advice you can give?

In Brasília, different then other cities around the world, people dont have much of the habit of opening their houses to colocation!!! But there are lot of studios to rent in the center of the city!! Not very low price, but you can try students houses by the university!!!

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

That's a good part here, there are too many differents kind of food here and lots of restaurants to go!! My favorits are japonese, all around the city!!!

What places would you recommend visiting in Brasília?

If you come to Brasília you HAVE to go to Pontão, its a place by the lake with an amazing view and very fun restaurants! And also the Radio Tower its on the center of the city, it is at the heart oh the city close to all the architectural buildings!!! and PIER 21, an important mall by the lake!

Is it good to eat out in Brasília? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

VERY GOOD!!! Lots of different places! If you come, you havo to go to MANGAI, DEVASSA or MORMAI at PONTÃO and PIER 21, an important mall by the lake!

Is the nightlife good in Brasília? Where is good to go?

Life style its fun and there is lots of different places to go. Eletronic music, Latin musics, Country musics and everything else! I recommend CARIBEÑO, DUETTO BAR, at PIER 21 and STADT BEER!!!

What advice would you give future students heading to Brasília?

Before come here, look it up on internet and save some money to come here!!! Enjoy!!!
