Spending Christmas in Braga

Braga is a city located in the north of Portugal characterised with a very rich historical patrimoine and amazing site views especially from the very popular cathedral Bom Jesus famous for it amazing gardens designed in very beautiful way. Most of the portuguese poeple feel very honoured to marry in the Bom Jesus cathedral as it represents a symbol in religion and in culture. In regular days it appeared to me so beautiful, so well organised  with a parc offering many leisure activities like discovering monuments, discovering also the city from far away by a special magnifying glass that shows all the details of the city center for only 1 euro and also the amazing atmosphere of this splendid place.

In christmas time, Braga becomes a very beautiful illuminated city with light everywhere decorating the different streets, the commercial centers especially Braga Parque that is the most famous one inside the city, the christmas trees everywhere decorated with mulltiple colourful red, green and blue lights giving to the city a unique style and charm.

The decorated streets become even more beautiful with the music that is put on out loud and of course that give more charm to the streets and present an amazing landscape, we can enjoy therfore this great atmosphere in the different restaurants of the city that give a full meal for less than 20 euros most of the times since it is not a so expensive city comparing to Lisbon or to other european cities.

Another japanese restaurant also propose a whole buffet with all the various japanese dishes like sushi and new combination we don't ever knew it existed before.

Among the many conserved monuments of the city, there is the Jardim Santa Barbara with its cathedral also and amazing gardens decorationg it from both sides, the Porta Nova that gives poeple the impression of welcoming them in the entrance of the city.

Many festivals can be discovered inside of the city center and near the big fountain with the most famous singers in the coutry coming to give shows freely to the public while celebrating this wonderful event. By this way, i could also attend a superb concert that was held for free inside of the mall Braga Parque where a team of electro music came and gave to us the most magical and splendid shows ever.

In that period of christmas even cinema bacome cheaper than usual allowing poeple to go out and enjoy the best times while watchimg the most recent american movies like for exemple in Braga Shopping mall where many poeple can enjoy these amazing discounts.

The university of Minho was also one of the best universities i ever saw in terms of organisation, courses, environnement suitable for studies and kindness of professors that i had to know during my traineeship period, i advice many students to do such a traineeship to enrich their knowledge in many aspects, the scientific conferences held with international reaserchers around the world and every week could help students to exchange with these professors, allowed many collaboration works to get established, even scientific knowledgegot more enrished and many exchange with professors can help in constructing a more cultivated personnality on the scientific scale.
