What is it like to live in Bolzano? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
The city of Bolzano is very particular. It is located in the very north of Italy and it’s a mixture of italian and german people. This 2 cultures live every day together and coexist in every aspect.
The architecture of the city center it’s in between from historical and contemporary.
What is the student lifestyle like in Bolzano?
Probably studying in Bolzano doesn’t mean to have partys every day, because life here is generally quiet, but you can enjoy bars or public spaces at every hour of the day.
How much does it cost to live in Bolzano?
If you’re moving from the UK you wont find Bolzano expensive. Obviously it is more expensive than other cities in Italy.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Bolzano? Is there any advice you can give?
It can be difficult, people here don’t want to cheat on advertisments, but it can be difficult to find a flat in the city center becaus there aren’t so many available.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
If you like italian food you can easily find it here, same for typical german dishes and also south tyrolean. For sure you have to taste the traditional hand crafted beers and sweets of Bolzano.
What places would you recommend visiting in Bolzano?
The city center is very nice, but you can visit it quite entirely in a week. Moving around the city and have a walk on the multiple hills around will be a nice way to spend the week end. Also skiing in winter is probably the best idea in the Dolomites.
Is it good to eat out in Bolzano? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
If you want to eat particular dishes you easily can, but also if you want to spend less and eat traditional food it is also possible.
Is the nightlife good in Bolzano? Where is good to go?
You can spend time in Piazza Erbe, or Piazza Walter in the city center but also have a look at the events from the university or local companies, they can be great. Around the city there are also nice clubs.
