Situated at the top of the hill, St Luca's Sanctuary is one of the main attractions of Bologna. If you want to go off the beaten track, St Luca's sanctuary offers you one of the most stunning and marvellous views of the mountains that surround the city. Not only is this place famous for its precious views but also for the walk that you have to do to get there. In order to get to St Luca's Sanctuary, you go via Porta Saragozza and you will walk through a large portico which was constructed to protect the pilgrims from the rain. It is made up of 666 arches making it the biggest portico in the world.
