Why did you choose to go to Bochum, Germany?

First of all, I like the campus of Ruhr University Bochum and I realy like the international atmosphere of Bochum. As I got admission in the University, I searched for the city in internet and found it beautiful.

What is the student lifestyle like in Bochum?

Its pretty cool, there are enough space for art, music or science. Students can choose according to their preferences. Moreover, there are a lot of opportunities for parties. Night life is also nice in Bochum.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Bochum to other students?

Yes, of course. There are a lot of international people in Bochum, therefore, its pretty comfortable for a foreign student to live here. The University is also very beautiful with big campus, libraries and nice gardens. Bochum feels very fresh and homely.

What is the food like?

As I said its a city with international atmosphere, one can get several restaurants and fast food shops of different nations. For example- Turkish, Syrian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian and many more. One can get a lot of flavors in Bochum.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Bochum?

Yeah, as I found my housing by Housing anywhere (site for accommodation), it cost me around 72 Euro.

How much does it cost to live in Bochum?

I think, its around 500 to 550 euro per month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, its easy to get grips with. Yes, there are language courses available at the University, which is very helpful.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Bochum from your city?

I think Bus and U-bahn both are good means of transport.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Bochum?

I would recommend "Zeiss Planetarium Bochum". The Velvet Fulldome

Projection" system at the planetarium is one of the most advanced of any planetarium in the world as far as I know.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Bochum?

Turkish and Syrian food shops are very amazing options because they are serving delicious food at reasonable prices. However, according to my taste, some other good restaurants are Asia Paradise, Beef & Burger, Sakura Bochum, Mutter Wittig or Falafel Sta and so on.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

yes, of course. Please find accommodation via websites before you move to Bochum because it is often very difficult to find one.
