The First Step

Coming from my home country, Morocco, to Poland was a very bold decision. Maybe, the bravest decision I have ever made in my life so far. Why? For two main reasons:  

The first reason is the fact that I have never crossed the borders of my country before. In fact, I didn't have the chance to leave Morocco and go abroad before for any purpose even though I always wished to. Besides, going through all this experience by my own was something very challenging and frightening for me. 

The second reason would be the fact that Poland is not really the dream destination of the majority of Moroccan students. They, actually, choose to go to countries like France or Canada or even United States of America...So my decision to come to Poland wouldn't get too much approval among them! 

However, all this didn’t dishearten me and I have decided to come to Poland regardless of the mainstream views and opinions. For me, being an international student is more important than the country of destination. Plus, wherever you go, there is always new things to discover, new people to meet and eventually new friends to make with whom you get to share and exchange experiences and stories. And I think this is what makes it really worth the shot despite all the odds and obstacles that can hinder your journey.
