MY FLIGHT DIARY
Even though after a few hours I can't feel my butt anymore, I get tired and I want to get out of the aircraft, I love flying. I love when airplanes speed up and eventually take off because I can feel the adrenaline in my body. In the past three years, I took so many airplanes that I thought to myself it would have been a shame to forget which flights I have been to, so I wrote them on a piece of paper, but I realized it was not enough. I forgot which seat number I was assigned to in many of them, and also the times of departure and landing, but now I found the solution to my problems.
My Flight Radar 24
This website is literally amazing. What you do with it is storing the information of your flight. For instance, if tomorrow you are flying from Milan to Palma De Mallorca and you are flying with Alitalia, then you just put all this information on the website, with your seat number, the reason for the trip and so on. After you added information of several flights you will see appearing a lot of statistics, like:
- Which airlines you flew with the most
- The number of kilometers you traveled by plane
- The number of times you have been to a specific airport
In my case, you can see that I flew economy twenty-eight times and three in first-class (this is slightly wrong due to the fact that I flew thirty-nine times and I did not put the information about the other few flights). The same thing applies to the seat section. I can not remember whether I got a window, a middle or an aisle seat for some of my flights so I just left it blank. What I am sure it is right is the number of times I flew, the number of kilometers I traveled and the number of hours I flew.
I have been to twenty different airports, I have been to Orio Al Serio International Airport most of the times, seventeen up to now, and Denver International Airport is second with twelve times.
I flew Ryanair the most, followed by British Airways, which is the airline that took me to the United States and back. I flew thirty different routes, with Bergamo to Billund being the most frequent one. Statistics say that I have been flying for thirteen years even though there is a gap of ten years between my first and second flight. I have been to many countries in my life but just eight of them were reached by plane.
Flight Radar 24 even tells you which month of the year you usually fly the most, and also which day of the week.
The very first feature you will see though is a map, and I love it because it shows you all the routes you have been taking. It changes color depending on how many times you took the same flight, and I believe the line is white when you put information on a future flight.
The last feature of the website that I want to talk about is the selection of the year you want to see information of, for instance, if you do not want to see the information of a lifetime you only click on the year you want to see.
I think this website is very well designed, you just need to put the information and the website calculates the rest for you. Are you going to use it? Did I convince you? You definitely should.
