Blog: Erasmus in Jyväskylä, Finland!
Tags: General

The time is 22:00. The sun has not set yet. Where am I? I’m in Finland, the land of the “extremes” . The land of the extreme low winter temperatures where in the winter you get plenty of darkness and in the summer you get plenty of sun. The land of the educated people that change and get drunk in the nights. The land that I was dreaming of for years before I finally managed to visit.

In the past 8 months I have met people from every corner of the planet: Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Australia meet in a relatively small city in Central Finland which is called Jyväskylä. I would like to thank all these guys that tolerated me more or less because I believe that they were the most important “experience” that I gained during these months: to learn how to communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds and to be more tolerant with our differences. Moreover, the constant friction with people from all around the world helped me understand better and admire my own culture. It is true that sometimes while trying to explain some idiom or a trait of the my culture to my friends from different cultures, I felt weird as I realized how relative is everything, something that might be important to me might sound trivial to someone else.

I would like to wish happiness to everyone.. Because this is what actually matters. Life might be shitty but as far as we smile and think positive, everything can change and become better..
