In danger we see beauty
It was dark. It was quite. I could hear the sound of the wind. I couldn't see anyone on the road. I couldn't see anyone inside any building. It was the first time I was in a quiet place like this in the U.K that reminded me about the mystery nights in my countryside where everyone often related them to ghosts.
My phone had no internet, couldn't make a call. I didn't have any other backup maps. I started running to try to find somebody to ask for where I was and called my friend to pick me up. I kept running, running. After fifteen minutes, I heard the sound of cars. I run over to the directions but nobody there. The cars were on the bridge above me. I kept running again.
Finally I saw a car in front of me. I waved to stop them (like in hitchhiking scenario). They stopped and the guy in the car open his car windown and asked me with a warm caring smille 'Are you getting lost?'
'Yes, I am. Thank you for stopping.' I smiled.
He then helped me to call my friend and asked my friend to come over to where I was to pick me up. I found that there was actually a bar just in front of us even though it was not so busy. My 'saver' said he actually went to the bar now. After some seconds of saying bye and thanks, he went inside the bar then came out again 'Jen, come here. It is cold outside. Your friend will call you when he comes.'
I entered the bar and started warming myself. My 'saver' and his friend started asking me about Vietnam and my travelling. They offered me coffee or tea if I was cold.
We had great chat. The getting lost experience turned out to be the best night of the week. It was like the time of travelling again and getting back to the nature again.
