we Love eat... maybe to much, maybe to many times...

In Portugal there is

9.00Pequeno almoço (breakfast),

13.00 almoço (lunch),

17.00 lanche (eating during between afternoon and evening)

20:00 jantar (diner)

22:00 ceia (eating before sleeping)

This is the base for us, we separete the day with the meals, is " boa tarde"  after your lunch otherwise still been "Bom dia" (good morning) and the same for good night.

The tradicional food in Portugal is codfish, it has a special way to keep it, because it is salted dry codfish. The first time that they tryed this way was in Viana do Castelo (north of Portugal) and it solved the problem for keep it for long time.

Portuguese people that lives near to the ocean, had a diet based on fish and codfish it was cheap most of the population could ate it, developing in that way a lot of recepies. Today we say that we have 365 recipes, so you can cook something diferente everyday.

The sardines are also very famous and with that we have the party st jonh, that happens in june and people kicks each other with a plastic hammer. Is not in agressive way is very funny and you can hit everybody and nobody will be angry with you, totally safe.

the sardines we eat them with broa (special bread) and wiine :D

So this is the moment, let's talk about wine.

we are good eating but we are better drinking. Wine is our thing...

we have the famous Porto wine, very sweat, used to drink with sweets and for portuguese normally we drinking it in special times or if you have some guest at home.

Normallly in small places, everybody do is own wine and during september, people joing for catching the grapes.when the wine is done you taste and you bring your neighbords for tasting too.

People used to say that women drink white wine and men red wine...

actually I do prefer white wine and you?
