Crazy Sinful Houseparties

As described earlier, we had a really tight household. Our hallway was open to anyone who wanted to walk in for a chitchat, a coffee, something to eat, to watch movies, or just to hang out.

Also, in an open kitchen like this, there is a great opportunity to organize parties. We all put some decorations in the kitchen, from some elements on the ceiling to paintings on the walls and little Santa Claus dolls on the table. It was really cozy and homy. From a regular Dutch student, I evolved into a true party planner.

ABC Birthday Bash

For my birthday, I organized an ABC Birthday Bash together with some of my friends. We started planning it around 2 weeks before. We bought all the ingredients for a lit party: from cups to ping-pong balls, a piñata, balloons..., and much more stuff for welcome drinks and party games. It was an amazing party. A lot of people showed up, around 90 or so. I did not expect this at all! It was hard to fit everyone in the room, but we managed. We partied the night away in our homemade outfits. I wore a garbage bag dress with different colors and balloons attached to it. This was the best party of the semester!

Regular "unintended" house party

On one night, two of my roommates and I sat in the kitchen, listening to music, dancing like crazies. Then we decided: "let's start drinking as well". So we got our drinks out and started to dance even crazier. Other roommates started to enter the kitchen one by one, and a house party started. It was so unexpected that it made it so good! We baked cookies during our crazy dancing and partied the night away!

Oktoberfest: Komsa Edition

It was early October. I just arrived back in Alta from a short trip home. I brought back my Dirndl and brought one for my friend as well. We put up some Oktoberfest decorations in the kitchen and started to think: "why don't we plan an Oktoberfest here in Alta? " So that is what we decided to do. Not many people showed up—we were with around 15 people—, but it was very cozy and great fun: crazy dancing, crazy music and great people. It was again really good.

Halloween Party

The next party was our Halloween party. A lot of people showed up again—I did not expect this—and all of them were dressed up! I didn't even recognize half of them because of their crazy outfits. I was dressed as Harley Quinn; some friends of mine dressed up as a canoe and canoeist; another one was Einstein and we even had some zombies. It was legit crazy! Good music, a lot of nice people and crazy dancing once again. What a party, what a vibe! People talked about it a long time before and after it. I did not expect this at all!

Disco Goodbye Party

As goodbye party, I organized a disco party. This time not many people came dressed up, but it was still great fun. We "boogie woogied" throughout the whole night, laughed, cried, and started to realize this exchange had come to an end. Nevertheless, we had a blast. And I hope the roommates that stay will continue organizing costume parties.
